Re: Fog lights? Which is best?

You might want to look into these Ken: http://www.cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/223 The Hondaline and Showchrome units are 35 watts each. The Electrical Connection lights are 55 watts each. I have the EC lights in mine and they are really bright. They were easy to install as well. I leave mine on all the...

Re: 86 gl1200 starts without key

OK, on your regulator/rectifier, there are several wires. The three yellow wires (which I suspect are the ones that melted, correct? We'll get to that in a minute) bring power from the stator (alternator) into the regulator. The two red wires (which connect to red/white wires) supply power to the b...

Re: Emgo fuel filter failures

At least they were decent enough to pull them from the shelves. But the thing is...by ignoring the problem and letting it fester across the Internet (and doing a search, this is being talked about on a LOT of message boards), they do themselves no favors. Instead of a "yeah, we had a bad batch of g...

Re: after market stereo's

viking is right....if you want to expand into mp3 get a small mp3 player and it will plug right in. I have a 2GB player and paid like $10 for it. The J&M unit is not practical for your application.

Re: after market stereo's

John Lazzeronni also offered to replace my card, but I just ordered three 2GB cards from Tiger Direct for $7 each. It is not worth the hassle and the postage to send this card back to J&M. It is a cheap, substandard card, anyway , and what they would replace it with would be the same. The one I got...

I'm with guitarlos...the RAM unit is really nice: RAM-B-174-132U-2T.jpg link to that one here: http://www.mountguys.com/product_p/ram-b-174-132u.htm I already had the clutch mount for my GPS, so I just needed the cup holder section: RAM-B-132BU-2T.jpg link to that one here: http://www.mountguys.com/...

Re: after market stereo's

Well, I have it installed, loaded the music, put it into service, and it played absolutely beautifully - till I changed CDs to CD2 and then CD3 etc up to CD8. Each time I changed after going to CD2, it played the same tune it started on from CD2. Then it refused to change at all, and then it refuse...

Re: after market stereo's

what you have there viking is state of the art, plug and play. You would almost think you had something like that yourself! :) I've seen that little J&M kit at Cyclemax, it really looks like a nice system. Funny you should mention that.....my CD changer died while we were on our way to New York. I ...

Re: Police Wing

I didn't know that an 1100 could catch an 1800. My 1200 sure never would have been close to my 1800. Next time we're out, we'll give your 1800 a try against my 1100. :) I suspect that from a standing start I might have you (you're ~250 lbs heavier than me) - but as soon as you get up to any kind of...

Re: Police Wing

A "well tuned" 1100 is equally as fast as an 1800 and faster than a 1500. It just doesn't have the low rpm torque that either if them do. I have a 93 1500 and a 76 1000 and the 1000 will out run the 1500 from stop through all the gears. (Running flat out at high rpms.) Roll on time acceleration in ...

Re: car tire on a 99 gl1500se

Interesting discussion there men.... In reference to the insurance question, I spoke with my insurance company (Progressive) before I put my CT on. I was told that as long as it was DOT approved and made of rubber, they didn't care what tire I put on the bike. They did say that if I was to put on an...

I see that you have fired up a similar thread on goldwingfacts. Someone there posted the link I refered to:

Maybe call Pablo/Paul, whatever his name is and give him the "business" that he won't have your business anymore.

Re: Emgo fuel filter failures

Good thing you found that Scott. There was a thread about the EMGO filters on the goldwingfacts site last year. One of the EMGO reps was involved. I don't remember if one of the members was cut/pasting his emails, or if the rep was replying directly, but the issue was the same - the glue turning to ...

Re: Headsets

I'm not aware of any headsets for use with no helmet, but I'm sure you could fabricate what you need from any of the existing headsets. Just splice the wires going to the helmet speakers into ear buds and replace the boom mic with a bone or throat mic. This site has really good products: http://www....
