Re: What fork oil weight 96 Aspencade with progreesive springs

I will chime in here and also say 15wt fork oil is a good choice, allows you to feel the road but not rattle your teeth on the big bumps. If you like that marshmallow ride then something lighter like ATF or 5wt fork oil if you can find it. Air is not needed with the Progressive springs but you can a...

Did you lube the o-ring seals when you installed the new pump? It is easy to roll the o-ring out of its groove if installed dry. 8-)

You said that you heard there can be hesitation problems with the early 1500's. Did you ride this bike ? Does it have hesitation issues? Are you trying to fix a problem that does not exist for this bike? 8-)

Re: Car tire for rear of reverse trike

There is not a good car tire for either the 1000 or the 1100. Many have tried to find one but nothing that is readily available. You can check out Universal Tire for some specialty reproduction tires but you may still not find one worth the cost/benefit. The problem is that the swingarm is not wide ...

Re: Shifting into 2nd gear.

I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest that you need the shifter brace and a new oil seal. The shift lever is not one of Honda's best designs. The brace will fix this issue. Re: valve covers chroming

Chrome is expensive, actually requires more labour to do than to just polish the aluminium. Chrome is a process of first polishing the substrate, then electroplating with copper, polishing again, playing with nickel, polishing to high luster, then flash playing with a thin layer of chrome for a bril...

Re: Keeping your windscreen clear during rain

Lemon Pledge furniture polish works quite well, it leaves a silicon oil behind that causes the water to bead up and blow away. Cheap and effective. This stuff is very effective Moto Solutions RainCoat. Read about it here http://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6924 ,I have used both and p...

Re: Can the 83 GL1100 headlight be upgraded?

As Oversight said, any 7 inch automotive headlight shell will fit properly, you can fit a LED unit if that's your choice. If you choose to stay with a H4 bulb you can't go wrong with the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra . 8-)

Re: Headlight adjuster screw stripped

I assume you are talking about the set screw on the adjustment knob. If your Philips won't work try the proper JIS screw driver in the bikes tool kit. If you don't have a JIS then you can grind the tip off of the Philips and put a rubber band over the tip to increase the grip . The screw only undoes...

Re: Speaking of trailers...The Idaho Bedroll

This is a great idea, nice little teardrop for a solo rider that doesn't need too many comfort items. I particularly like the slide feature to keep it small for towing but big for room. Something like a Kelty Noah's tarp over the whole rig would provide needed shade and rain protection. 8-) https://...

Re: which rear tire to get

Sorry no pics of the flap. You can reach it if you remove the battery or when the tire is off. It is located just above the front of the swing arm protecting some electronics from road debris and heavy water situations. If you don't tie it forward it will rub on big bumps with a passenger on board ....

Hi To All, New to this and Wings. Just purchased a 1996 1500 se and have three issues: 1) radio volume low. It's not the 5 amp fuse in the relay box,or fuse box,and not the mute. The cassette deck only opens when I remove the 5 amp fuse and replace it in the relay box. Any ideas? you say it's not t...
