Re: Accessories you had to have

Some of them seem superfluous at the time, but become necessities. I thought it would be cool to add satellite radio onto my bike, so that I could ride distances without having to continually search for radio stations. Now I can't imagine riding without it. Sam for the GPS. I thought it would help ...

Re: What RPM will you run up to and not up shift?

After reading that top speed was only 102 on GL 1500 just had to see for myself. By running to redline in 2nd and 3rd it did see 100 in 4th with ease. Now I feel confident running to redline , well that is when the wife is not on back. Still pulling her claws from my back.

Re: Gear position switch

Had a similar problem with my 89 after it sat for 2 years. An old 1200 wing rider ask if he could have a try. He began to ratchet the reverse lever very rapidly for a minute or so. Neutral light came on and have not had that problem again.

Need a right trunk pocket door for 89 GL 1500, any color or condition.

Re: Just Bought a 89 Goldwing on Ebay

Black was good for a 135 in a 55 and 18 months on my feet, but my 69 427 vet made a 205 pass in 1/4 mile. Even this 22 year old Wing seen 100 within 30 minutes of ownership. After a 2 year set it's dying to be riden.

Re: dead radio

Have you checked the dash switches. The 89 I just bought would not work after sitting for 2 years. Switches were lightly corroded, but after a cleaning all is good.

Just Bought a 89 Goldwing on Ebay

After years of riding solo the wife suggested I buy a Goldwing for my 55th birthday so she could ride. Found a nice 89 within 50 miles of home. She is even opposed to my Vstar 1100 being sold since it was my 25th anniversary present. After 35 years I have learned not to buck the system. Looking forw...
