Re: RV Toy Hauler Info

I didn't see his set up but he told me he put the chock where he wanted it. Then rode the bike (Harley not a full dresser) into the chock and then strapped the whole set up down. He said the chock never moved. Myself I would tie the chock down. Hope this helps :D

Re: Alternator

If the draw from new lights isn't that much I would bet just coincidence. Had a pick once that I put a set of aircraft landing lights on and they would trip the breaker in the alternator and after switching the lights off the alternator would reset.

Re: RV Toy Hauler Info

Ok Made it home no issues the ramp is about 15 ft long with two sets of leg supports under the joints. Going up is no issue as the trailer is 37 ft. Coming down I use the 1st gear engine off with slight front brake method as mentioned. While traveling I camped next to a guy who did exactly what I ha...

Re: RV Toy Hauler Info

First trip with the bike in the toy hauler. I didn't want to drill holes so I mounted the chock to a 4 ft piece of 3/4 inch plywood, which I mounted D rings on. Loaded the bike then strapped everything down using a criss cross pattern for the plywood. Tied the bike to the factory D rings from the fr...

Re: reasonable time to leave a Goldwing on its side

Find another shop, Mounting tires is no biggie if they have the tools. The guy I use has a tire machine and he mounts them in a couple of minutes.

Re: my 1st bike

Congrats on the ride. Just because your 50 no biggie. Lots of guys start late seems that is where we seem to find some disposable cash. Don't work about your non rider friends. I have friends who don't ride but always want to know where I have been on the bike I was in my 40's some where when I boug...

Re: Cruise Control, Do You Use It On The Highway?

I use it all the time. As soon as I hit the highway it goes on. Kick it off by simply taping a brake or clutch slow down to go through a speed zone then back to resume and the preset speed. Not having to constantly monitor the speedo is great. I ride quite often guys who don't use the cruise. No pro...

Re: gets warm sputters out, wont restart

I am with Mike B, track down the other end of that elusive wire and make sure is is good. If that don't fix it then I believe the alternator is defective

Re: gets warm sputters out, wont restart

With he engine running use a multi meter set to DV volts and measure the output right at the alternator stud. AS for the elusive wire use the multi meter set to continuity connect one lead to the end of the wire you can get at and take the other lead and probe the connectors and other wires until yo...

Re: gets warm sputters out, wont restart

I think I would load test that battery, It may have volts but no amps. Then I would use a multi meter to check and see what the alternator is putting out buy checking right at the alternator. Then I would use the multi meter to do a continuity test and start probing connectors to track down the ends...

Re: RV Toy Hauler Info

Anybody mount a wheel chock in their toy hauler? We got a 5th wheel toy hauler last summer and had the same issues. (sold the enclosed trailer because a double tow was a pain in gas stations) The bike got hung up going in and out so the dealer extended the ramp by four feet. I got a wireless back up...

Re: I was lookin at Snow blowers

I live on an acherage, and was considering a blade for the ATV but decided that was not the way to go because what do you do with the snow after a while. You can only push it so high. With a blower it is gone. I have a front mount 48 inch on my 17.5 hp lawn tractor and, and have had no issues in 10 ...
