Re: shortening GL1800 windshield

The best inexpensive seat I've seen is the Walmart comfy seat. For a few bucks more, add the roid doughnut for $7, very little air, it works great. We had four of these we have been using for over two years. Worked really well for $30. I just got the Air Hawk R today for $170. Even softer than the W...

Re: Video - Cornering, Swerving and Counter Steering

Most of the important points are covered in the link provided previously.
The DVD runs about 90 minutes. Very well made.
I will be interested to see if using some of the throttle techniques increases my fuel mileage.

Re: shortening GL1800 windshield

Add a seat cushion!

I use the Walmart Comfy cushion alone or with a small air bladder. More than enough to make up any difference in windshield heights. Beats chopping up a perfectly good shield.

Ringing Rocks of Bucks County Pa

http://www.davidhanauer.com/buckscounty/ringingrocks/ Ringing Rocks Park is a 128 acre park nestled in the woods in Upper Black Eddy. Located within the park is a field of boulders, about 7-8 acres in size, that have an unusual property. When the rocks are struck with a hammer or another rock, they ...

Re: What Really Happened at Stonehenge.

This is a close to a Stonehenge as I am going to see: NE PA's Collumcille Megalithic Park This is an interesting place to visit, just outside of Bangor, Pa. I have been there a number of times starting around 1992. One of the very first places that showed orbs in the photos taken. The largest stone ...

Re: 10" rain in one hour - rider observations

I have no idea why there even was an incident. I will likely go back at some point and see what their vantage point was from that direction. It was all kind of surreal to me. At first it did not seem like there was anyway to avoid a collision, next thing we are behind the SUV, safely headed home. Sh...

10" rain in one hour - rider observations

We happened to be traveling the Lehigh Valley (Pa) on Saturday. Todays local newspaper stated it rained 10" in one hour in some areas. Doubt that was anywhere near what we saw, but nonetheless, it was a heavy rain to be in on a MC. What I observed was not one rider had rain gear in the 2.5 hrs we we...

Re:New ECM = 10% MPG INCREASE!

Just so there are no misunderstandings, this is an entirely positive post. Looking back, it kinda sounds like I am not happy with the MPG improvement. I was not expecting any. This is just an added bonus after replacing the ECM to correct idle hunting and very low idle RPM. I do not see a way to cor...

New ECM = 10% MPG INCREASE!

After having run the 06 Wing about 800 miles since the ECM was replaced, I can now say it gets just barely 10% better gas mileage. I have recorded just about every fill up since we bought this 2.5 yrs ago. When the new ECM was installed, the following fillups were 38 MPG, up from the constant 36.5. ...

Re: Super mount for camera/cam cord on Amazon

It has an interesting ratchet type device on the suction mount. I've not seen one anywhere else like it. I've only had it a short time, put on about 400 miles over all types of road conditions. It has not indicated it may come off whatsoever. I originally had it tethered to the dash, but the velcro ...

Re: MC accident, after thoughts.

Roads are bad nearly everywhere it seems. We carefully planned the ride trying to stay clear of the worst of the traffic and allow for best road conditions, as best we could. Who would have expected a temp bridge to still be in use three years after it was installed. I had a very close call last fal...

MC accident, after thoughts.

Four of us went for a yearly ride along the Delaware river on Sunday afternoon just south of Easton, Pa coming from Rt 212. The two riders in front collided at a very iffy constuction site. I was able to capture that on the new Sony Bloggie. What I have been able to get from all that after watching ...

I sent another message today to admin, came back and that is still in the out box?

Re: Super mount for camera/cam cord on Amazon

I play the MP3 for nice background sound. There is darn near no engine noise on the Wing. I can hear everyone elses exhaust, lawn mowers etc., but not much more than a sewing machine kinda sound from the Wing, and you can hear it shift. Very quiet. Its almost as much fun watching the playback on the...

Re: Super mount for camera/cam cord on Amazon

A secure mount, behind the screen offers much better streaming video, protects the cam corder, and you are not missing out while the bars may be turned the wrong direction.

Super mount for camera/cam cord on Amazon

The "Flexscope" windshield mount ($27) has worked out super on the GL1800, or any other bike for that matter. The other adapter that comes with the unit is great for holding a cell phone or pretty much anything else that fits in that device. The entire unit is better than you would expect. Don't be ...

WOW! That is the one I was looking for. An excellent find and it does not impede your view of the Nav screen. Certainly better than my $2 cover, which works fine, but looks a whole lot nicer. I am able to put coins and money on the top of mine, or other items (sun glasses) that would slide off the p...

Re: What tires to put on my 2002 Goldwing

I had a set of Metzlers on a BMW LT. They did not make the noise I get from Dunplaps on the Wing. Those now have 10k miles. I will be switching to the Bridgestones in July. We ride mostly two up, pressure at 37/41. Another local rider that does very long trips is using a Perelli run flat from a spor...

Thanks for pasting the pics! I am not feeling well today or I would have cleaned up the material with duct tape and taken a little more time. It does look like it belongs on the bike, and serves the purpose. Here is another possible option I was considering: http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/PN-065...

Here is a shade I made this afternoon. The pics are in yechave's forum pics album. Not sure how to connect them to this thread. It looks good. I tried it with the lights set below 50% on the dimmer. Re: GPS sunshield?

I made one for the BMW LT three years ago. Worked great and probably the best material I've seen so far. I used the inside of a Wegman's grocery bag. It was a black, semi hard plastic that was easily cut and molded. Did a great job. I would have to travel some to get another, if they still have them...
