Re: coolant leak below y pipe on top of engine

Thanx again, and from what you are discribing it sounds exactly like what I have. I'll have to get the y pipe off then the pipe that extends down to the thermostat housing which is where the leak is, but while I have it that far I will change the thermostat. I am afraid not only are the o rings bad ...

Re: coolant leak below y pipe on top of engine

Thanx for the insite, will take a better look from the right side. Have a lot of time, winter has come to our area and looks to stay for awhile. I will let you know how much success I had when I get that far.

Re: dead spot off the bottom

Had the same problem with an 88 that had sat for a few years. The more I ran clean gas thru it the better it got, but it took a long time and somewhat irritating.Sea Foam may help to clean out the ports a little faster.

coolant leak below y pipe on top of engine

I have found a coolant leak below the y pipe on top of the engine. This would be just forward of the carbs and down on the engine. I am not sure which is the best way to get at it, assuming the o rings are bad and possibly the pipes also.Taking the carbs off looks like a mess, any suggestions?
