Toy haulers.

Greetings Gents. While the wife and I are contemplating our next life's adventure, we were thinking of getting a fifth wheel toy Hauler. Anybody got experience in this? Want to haul a roadsmith trike and a regular goldwing. So far looked at a puma. Any thoughts? Mighty obliged.

Re: Pulse generators

Hey Virgilmobile. I don't think it is off with one tooth. Runs like a champ like it always has. Is there adjustment to the pulse generators? I thought it was simply a direct bolt up without slots. Maybe...... Maybe the dirt. Maybe that too. Give it a try this weekend. Cheers

Mighty obliged.

Re: Pulse generators

Thanks Virgilmobile. Yes, I remember the pulse generators when I did the belts some time ago. Yes, I get the voltage above the mark and above the 11volts when I checked it the last time. Is it possible that if these are in the failing mode, that they maybe creating a "rogue" spark? Igniting when the...

Pulse generators

Gents, perhaps a layman understanding on these pulse generators. I have a 93 aspy that overnight is difficult to start. It backfires and now I hear a popping out of the carburetor during cranking. After cranking and cranking and cranking.... it starts.......after it starts I can continually start it...

Re: Please help me diagnose before I pull my hair out!!

Greetings again, Gotta love the diagnosis. Anyhow, bike was running sweet for a couple of weeks. Then once again, overnight, didn't start. Son of a gun....... So I figured I just get a new relay #6 instead of checking on the ECu since it is more labor intensive to get shelter off yada, yada, yada. C...

Yeah, interestingly enough, my wife's bike had a gel battery and it failed overnight. I usually listen to the slower starting before I consider another battery.......

Re: Please help me diagnose before I pull my hair out!!

Greetings Gents, I hate intermittent issues. I go to the garage this morning and it fires right up. I wish it would stop working so that I can find the problem. I don't know if I should switch out ignition items just to say that I did it and hope for the best. Since this morning, it started up three...

Please help me diagnose before I pull my hair out!!

Gents, I posted this same topic three years or so ago. Thought I had it licked, but it has come back to haunt me once again. THis is especially hard since it is difficult to diagnose intermittent problems. I don't have a clue where to start. If somebody had similar issues, maybe that could be the ca...

What does a "relay" do?

Greetings Gents,

Trying to learn the electrical schematics of a 93 Aspy. Notations, connectors, etc. Seems like the manual does a pretty good job. What specifically does a relay do? Does it do anything but act as a conductor between a source and a ground? Mighty obliged....

Re: Difficulty starting

Hey Roadhawg. I had the exact same symptoms. I was at a loss. I think my backfire one time was so severe, that it blew a hole in the muffler. I too was at a loss of actions. Ultimately, I checked my auto fill valve and it didn't hold. Replaced that componenet for a mere $160 bucks and it runs like a...

Muting intercom

Greetings fellow Goldwingers Here is a question. I use my 1500 to travel between projects rather extensively. I have a GPS with the voice activation that I have used with my Zumo. Anyway, I have tried putting tape over my mic. That works, albeit sorta dorky. I know there is a device that eliminates ...

Can a backfire blow a hole in a muffler?

Interesting discovery. Noticed a hole in the muffler on the bottom. Not big, thought it was rust like they all probably do eventually. Took the inspection camera in and a much bigger hole was discovered on an interior sheathing that appears that was created by an explosion in the exhaust. I was havi...

Re: Coolant Leak

I had a similar story. My bike started leaking too. the leak was appearing to be the radiator. I took the fan off and maybe it was coming from the top hose. It was tight but a little more out of it. Still leaking... okay, took the radiator out and took to the radiator shop for checking. The guy told...

Front wheel finish failure.

front wheel.JPG I know similar topics have been posted before, but has anybody have any luck of having failed wheels from clear coating fail? This picture is the front tire of a 2013 Goldwing. Having bought a trike and a bike at the same time, the stock wheels all show the same imperfections. I hav...

Has anybody else had intermittent starting problems?

Greetings Fellow Goldwingers, I am perplexed. Perhaps somebody had some intermittent starting issues out there that could help me out. Three times my bike hasn't started. Trying to restart it, I would get huge backfires in the exhausts. Left me stranded each time. Come back and starts again. The 4 t...

Re: A question for you multimeter gurus out there....

HEY Bluewater Hooker, Yeah I have the original OEM alternator on my bike. It has been about 11-12 years since the brushes were replaced. So now, I have a battery that reads about 12.41 volts right after a full charge. However, if I take a voltage reading at starting I get 10.6ish. Which makes me won...
