Re: How to replace your dash lights with LEDs

Hey I thought it would be cool to have a before and after picture to really show the difference so here is mine before and after. Here is the before picture of my 1993 GL1500 Interstate IMG_0621.JPG And here is the after picture of it with leds. IMG_0622.JPG That looks fantastic. Good work. I reall...

Re: GL 1500 1988 Battery Tender

This is exactly how I have used my battery tender on all 4 of my motorbikes with no adverse effects. I wire it direct to the battery, leave the battery hooked up to the bike and plug the battery tender in when not riding. I am certain nearly every person on this board that uses a battery tender will...

Re: LED lights and laws????

My suggestion would be to speak to the local OPP detachment, legal council or the Crown Prosecutors office to get an official statement on Headlamp Modulators in Ontario because that ticket does not make any sense to me based on the information you provided in this and previous posts. This has alre...

Re: Shell oil/Seafoam/Wet Clutch

I've used it in my 1990 1500SE. Worked great, pulled all sorts of crud out with the oil. I don't think anyone here has anything negative to report on Seafoam. I have also used it in my fuel to help clean the fuel system up.

I am going to say yes. This is the oil the MC shop I go to recommends. In Calgary, they are considered to be THE shop for all things GoldWing

My family went out of town to visit my sister and her family for Halloween and her birthday. I had planned to have this my last ride of the year, but timing did not work out and I was not able to take my bike... I am very thankful I was not able to as this was what the drive home on Nov 2 looked lik...

Re: Check the level in your battery

I have a couple Deltran Battery Tender Plus charger/maintainers. They seem to have worked well over the last 15 or so years. I also use battery tender plus. I have one hooked up to the bike and one hooked up to my trailer batteries. I don't run the bike over the winter. Once it's parked it stays pa...

Modulators are legal in both the US and Canada, all states and provinces (it is a federal regulation, and no state/provincial or local regulation can override it). I did stop one guy who had swapped out the majority of his trucks lights with controllable multi-coloured LEDs that were set to everything but the legal colours. As soon as I turne...

Re: Strange Exhaust 'Discharge'

Do you smell gas at start up? Looks to me, as ct1500 said, like excessive fuel. I'll wager the plugs are carboned up also. Yes I did notice a very strong smell at start up. I'm not sure I would call it 'gas' but it was very strong. The plugs in the bike are all new. I talked with my Dad (who rebuil...

This looks like a fantastic product by what everyone is posting. I just put in my order on your website and look forward to getting it installed. It has not stopped snowing all day. The Jet Stream shot like an arrow to the north and has now stalled. Re: 2015 Goldwing (40th Anniversary) disappointment

For a forum that is hosting Goldwing enthusiasts, I am a bit taken back by the harsh opinions. I have found that the majority of the members on this board are very passionate about their GoldWings, and I mean this in the most positive way. Occasionally this passion boils over when Mother Honda goes...

I have been looking around for an aftermarket kit to do the oil dipstick mod on a 1983 GL1100a. JPWhitney, Cyclemax and Randakk don't seem to carry this or have it in stock anymore. Re: How to replace your dash lights with LEDs

Note: I've received a report that some GL1500 use red for the low fuel lamp, instead of amber. You'll want to adjust yours accordingly. For reference, here are a couple variations to the Dash light colours on a 1990 GL1500 SE; Low Fuel - RED , Reverse - AMBER . Although I have not yet pulled apart ...

I am SOOOOOO glad that I was able to get the oil changed in my 1500 yesterday afternoon and the winter tires put on all our vehicles.
I support I can be thankful that it was not the 10-15cm they were calling for.
