Re: Ride Home

Deer are a big problem where I live also.... Just had a group pass across the road in front of me a couple days ago. Glad this worked out for you as it could have been a disaster. Ride on safely my friend.

Re: looking for parts

Hello and welcome to the gang! As far as the body parts go you may have some luck on EBAY... Others on this forum may be able to direct you to some motorcycle salvage yards as well. Tires can be purchased online or at your local dealer. I found great deals at motorcycle-superstore.com Just be sure t...

Re: Type of Gas

I find it depends on what brand of gas you are buying. With the so called "Top Tier" gasoline brands I run regular or mid grade. If I'm forced to use a questionable or bargain fuel I usually run premium. My bike seems to average 50 to 55 miles to the gallon so is probably running slightly lean and ...

Re: Type of Gas

The previous owner of my 86 always ran premium... I have tried a couple tanks of regular from 2 different stations and I get some "pinging" on hard acceleration. Guess mines just used to the good stuff! LOL :D

Re: Diagnosis Conundrum! Carbs...

I think you are on the right track.... sounds like it is way too lean since useing the choke helps. Keep in mind a lean condition could be lack of fuel OR too much air in the mixture. I would check all the vacuum hoses for leakage. Did you do a complete carb cleaning? lots of tiny passages that can ...

Hey WingAdmin..... After seeing your video I had to get a mini cam for myself. I found the same one on Amazon for $9.00 including shipping. Tried it out today and works great! Can't wait to take a scenic ride now and share it with you all. :D

Along these same lines is it normal to hear pressure release when removing the gas cap? Mine has pressure sometimes.

sir if you leave everything stock then you will walk away with many trophies if you enter it in any contest at shows... If you are not planning on entering any shows then I would add on what suits you best.. I have been looking for a show to take her to. Anybody know of any in the Northern Ohio area?

Add accessories or not? Opinions please.

I purchased my wing early this spring from the original owner. It is a 1986 Aspencade that was assembled and titled in 1989 (yes in the crate for 3 years!) It only has 7000 miles on it and is all original except for new tires. Pristine condition! I have been wondering if there is a value in keeping ...

Re: Heat on legs

The exhaust is underneath the heads and engine, wrapping it is not going to change anything. What you're feeling is air moving through the engine and cooling system itself, and exiting through the open sides. There were aftermarket engine covers that were made for this purpose, but I would probably...

Wear a helmet.... PLEASE

Fellow riders... I know this is a touchy subject with some but this week I lost a friend to an accident in which a helmet would certainly have saved his life. I personally won't leave the garage without my helmet straped on tight. Friends if you ride without a helmet please reconsider.... It could s...

If you don't mind an imported tire the Shinco 230 Tourmaster is an excellent choice... They too have great reviews. I have run them all summer and am very pleased. Smooth, quiet and handle the twisties great! They were so inexpensive I was afraid to try them but they made me a believer.

Temp gauge and cooling fan

I have a new to me 86 Aspencade and was wondering at what point I should expect the cooling fan to come on. I have had the gauge go up to one notch before the top and never heard it kick on. Is there an easy test for the fan? Thanks guys.
