Re: what do you use to lift your trike for service and inspection

its an air cylinder that you use .. correct? Do you have a "safety" loc out in case of air pressure loss? I'm looking at your photos to try and figure material type and size etc. as I think that I could replicate your hoist.. if thats ok. You have a background in metal and mechanics I'm guessing. G...

Re: what do you use to lift your trike for service and inspection

For my Trike I built a hydraulic lift. it lifts the trike up 23" from the ground rear wheels are free moving so can check front can be jacked up to checked steering. basically you can do a full service with out laying on the floor. when its not in use the trike parks over it so not taking up any mor...

Re: Getting a 93 Aspencade running after 4 years sitting

The fuel dripping from the hose under the bike may be from the carbs. there's two. one is a carb over flow the other is a float bowl drain off.

Re: SHORT LEGS !! - BIG PROBLEM ???

It can be sorted. lower the rear with smaller shocks or run on two air shocks. slide the tube up into the yokes . you can get it down by about 2".

On my 1500 trike I use 2 standard gl1500 coil shocks and the air shock setup in between the coils work fine on a straight axle
when I changed the axle for a xj6 jag axle I still used the standard ones and disconnected the air shock that works fine on the irs axle

Re: Machine won't run well, even after professional carb cleaning

Will it run if I bypass the petcock? Because, the gas is coming out of he petcock itself, not the hoses, I checke the hoses coming and going from the petcock, nothing comes out of them. Yes it will. but dont keep turning the ignition on and of without starting it at the fuel pump will pressurize an...

Have you checked the hose to the petcock is not split or the hose clips are not loose. Or you can bypass it or get a new diaphragm kit.

Re: Getting a 93 Aspencade running after 4 years sitting

You may be better off pressure bleeding. I had problems with my brakes. I used a brake bleeding kit with compressed air. but this will work just as well with air from a fully inflated tyre. you will also need a spare master cylinder cap https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gunson-G4062-Eezi-Bleed-Brake-Clutch...

Re: Machine won't run well, even after professional carb cleaning

I have found a possible culprit, the accelerator pump does not prime when the bike key is on or when I go to move the throttle. No gas comes out the little fangs, I call them, on top of the carburetors. I figured this out when I looked and didn’t see any gas. I dropped a little gas in each hole and...

Try removing the seat place a towel over the tank and get him to sit on the bike. that way you will see how much distance there is to build the seat up. get a old one off ebay and have it made to suit. or as said earlier lower the forks and fit smaller shocks on the rear. I have a pair of gl1100 rea...

Re: Fuel cap vented or not ??

I have the same on my 89 when I release the fuel cap. you get that hiss. It never caused a problem when riding. I don't have that type of cap with the spigot on the top to vent it on mine. If that sound is because of vacuum it may cause power loss, probably you are experiencing pressure built up in...
