Re: I'm torn....stay with the 1500 or move on to the 1800

My 93 Gl1500 is the most comfortable ride I've had in over 50 years. That being said, I considered moving up to an 1800. I felt a little cramped. the 1800 felt a little spunkier(and probably got better gas mileage), but at the end of the day, I decided to keep my 1500. More room, bigger trunk and ba...

Re: Trail braking

It all depends on what you're trying to do. If your looking to maximize speed through the corners, the axiom is slow in, fast out- slowing before entering and powering through the turn. IMHO, I think it is a very poor practice to use the front brake while in the turn on public roads. There's too muc...

Re: My two cents

My tire looks similar. All I've done is run balancing beads and 40psi, but my front end and forks are maintained.

I bought one, mounted it, adjusted it, rode many miles with it, hated it, sold it.

Re: Riding across I-90

..I have been riding and driving back and forth across that 200-mile stretch of road for 12+ years daytime, nighttime, summer, winter, and have never seen a deer, not even once! I've done that route more times than I care to remember, and never have seen deer crossing. That's not to say there hasn'...

Re: Dark side Nokian 185/75-15 on 96 SE

One of the nice things about running that tire is not having to worry about heat build up, while running at highway speed while touring out there. It can get ̶p̶r̶e̶t̶t̶y̶ ̶w̶a̶r̶m̶ down right hot and that's a bad combination for thread life. You might want to try bumping that pressure up to 46#., r...

Re: Alternitive Throttle options?

I've found with a bit of arthritis in my right wrist, this has helped a lot when my wrist needs a break and I can't use the cruise control. Get it in the right position then a dab or two of Superglue and I don't have to twist my wrist. https://www.banggood.com/Grip-Throttle-Assist-Wrist-Cruise-Contr...

...... At 95 MPH your tach would be reading about 4500 RPM, well below red line.....
My Aspencade 1500 is turning close to 7K rpm @ 70 mph. What the heck are you running for gears/tire?

CORRECTION: I just suffered a senior moment- That's on my scooter!

Re: Roadfaxit VIN check scam?

Just tell the "purchaser" to buy the report. If they truly want the machine, and it's a legitimate concern, tell them you'll refund the $10-$25 dollars THEY spent for it when they pay for the bike.

Re: Speaking of Austone Taxi Tires....

I had around 35K on mine when I changed it out. It still wasn't at the wear bars. I replaced it with a bike tire, because I'm contemplating selling the bike, but I'm sorry I did. I'm ordering one today just to have in case I decide to keep the bike.

Re: A new bike...

Just a quick note of warning to others-because I know that WingAdmin knows better- is to pay strict attention to the orientation of the sliders when converting the rollers to sliders. There have been many cases where owners, especially Burgman owners, experienced an issue with a slider "flipping". A...

Re: ride to a stranger?

I think it's crazy to expect anyone to plop down thousands of dollars on a bike without a test ride, unless your prepared to offer a guarantee of some sort- which is riskier than letting a qualified potential buyer take a ride.

Re: Drivers test bike

My road test at the time consisted of doing three circles to the left, three circles to the right, and three figure eights- staying within the curbs of the street and not putting a foot down. Then I was given half a dozen instructions to remember, then pull to the curb. The tester, who followed with...

Look into a side trip to the Back Of The Dragon. IMHO, much better than the Tail. Unfortunately, I'm already booked for another rally the same week in Cooperstown,NY.
