But he’s taking the shiny (chrome) bits off, so he won’t know which way is up!! :D

Congrats on the new bike, sorry your Dad has decided to stop riding, but I hope you have a great time.

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

As mentioned the intercom can pair with 2 other units, but there is no group mode, you can only speak with one person at a time. It is relatively easy to switch between the 2 other units that you have paired with, but you have to push the orange button to toggle between them, you cannot speak to bot...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

That's a darn good price. However it looks like the controller unit with the orange button is connected to the speakers and mic. with a wire and does not blue tooth to them. so that would mean I can not mount the controller unit on the dash some place where I can see it unless it's connected with a...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

I bought the same system and it worked so well between my bike and my wifes, i bought 2 more for my daughters to use, that is when i discovered this system only allows you to pair 3 units together maximum and you do NOT have group intercom, so you can only talk to one person at a time!! For me that ...

Re: changing the timing belts on 84 1200A

This one is an aspencade and the owner has added loads of extra lights around the radiator, air horns and god knows what else, so it has taken ages to get access to the belts. It is now sitting on its center stand ready for me to change the belts, I just need the UPS man to deliver them!! Considerin...

Having just watched the video, this looks extremely easy to me, I will be doing this job this weekend for a friend of mine. I have worked on bikes that are much harder to do!! The biggest nuisance is removing all the bodywork to actually get to the engine!! :D

Re: Goldwing electric motor conversion

I would think that starting with a much lighter motorcycle (than the goldwing) would be a better starting point for this project. The goldwing is a very heavy bike and not a good choice for an electric conversion, the frame and everything was built to handle 100 horsepower, if you are only going to ...

You might also want to tell us what kind of multimeter you are using as it may be that you are not using it correctly? Tell us the model and make and we can suggest how to use it.

Re: "New" 2000 1500SE - Overheated

I would suspect the electric fan is not operating. I would be filling the cooling system, then shorting the temp switch on the radiator to make sure the fan operates, if the fan does operate then I would start the engine and let it idle and get hot and make sure the fan comes on, if it doesn't then...

Re: Battery Tenders for GL1800

I have run a Jr for the last 10 years and never had an issue, so I would suggest just going for that and save some money over buying the plus. The plus is useful for large batteries where recharging might take longer, so the higher current rating is useful. As the goldwing really doesn’t have a larg...

2003 1800 Honda Goldwing (Dallas, TX) $8950

I am selling my 2003 Silver Honda Goldwing that I have owned for 8 years and never had a problem with it, I ride it daily so the mileage will increase a small amount but it currently has 37,748 miles. The motorcycle is in great condition with many extras, 100% of the electrics work correctly, and th...

Re: Too much oil? HELP wanted

The usual method is petrol will leak from the tank into the carb, overflow the carb (float valves leaking/sticking) and then flow into the cylinder inlet tract, from there it flows past any open inlet valves into the cylinders (usually the left hand side cylinders, as the bike is probably on its sid...

without a picture, its hard to say, has the bike got any non-standard electrical items (satellite radio, remote start, etc)? that might give a clue as to what the antenna is for.

Re: Too much oil? HELP wanted

I don't know where everyone is getting the "gas flowing uphill from", even though the gas tank is under the seat, it is still above the level of the carbs when the tank is full, so fuel will easily siphon from the tank through the carbs and into the cylinder if the float valves are not closing corre...

Re: Too much oil? HELP wanted

if gas is in the crankcase, you really just need to perform an oil change, nothing else is really needed. It does sound like the carbs could do with a good clean and overhaul, if it is leaking gasoline through the carbs, then don't forget to turn the gas off every time you stop the engine (until you...

I think it was always clear that he was doing it for looks, but to get the correct mount I thought he needed to order a CB antenna, however if the 1200 antenna is both a CB antenna and a radio antenna (then it probably only fits on the right hand side), I guess that means there is not a standard mou...

I ride 25 miles each way to work and usually have to fill up between 170 & 180 miles (when the low fuel light comes on), so i can't say if what your getting is good or bad, but it's identical to my 1800, so hopefully we are both getting good gas mileage!! :D

Re: Rear brake and gas mileage

As stated, this is normal, the drive shaft has a lot of drag, which is why the wheel stops turning so quickly. Disk pads will always touch the disk surface, but it should be very light.. What you describe sounds completely normal.

usually double filament bulbs have a different mount so a double filament bulb will not fit in your single filament bulb housing!! If it does fit, you are still missing the correct connection at the base of the bulb and the third wire that you need to connect to your wings harness. Basically what yo...

Re: Left front fork seal

As stated, driving on a leaky fork is not really bad for the fork (unless it runs dry, the fork oil not only dampens the fork movement, but also lubricates, and no lubrication is always a bad thing, But it takes a long time to drain a leaky fork through the fork seal!!) the biggest risk is getting f...

Re: Dual antennas

I suspect you might have ordered the wrong antenna.. There is a radio antenna that normally goes on the right hand side (I think!!) and there is a CB antenna that goes on the opposite side. The antennas look very similar but have different mounting hardware (as they go on opposite sides). you probab...
