Re: 88 GL-1500 Carb mystery

I'm not familiar with 88-89 carbs but the larger two inboard hoses you circled are your fuel lines and the best I can tell from your circled area, the smaller outer lines are the bowl vent hoses, not vacuum lines. They just T together then vent to atmosphere. I think the service bulletin about the v...

My '96 has a late model guard on the right side and the older style on the left, so I'm guessing affirmative. The later guards sure are more comfortable using highway pegs/boards than the others.

Re: Lighting decision

I didn't want my lights spaced so far out to the sides, so I used the chrome mounting bar shown in the picture. It's a Show Chrome part. If you call them, they will give you the part # for that piece only, minus the halogen driving lights. It will take some creative adapting, to make any of the LED...

Re: Lighting decision

The light bar can be had from CycleMax , the LED light brackets bolted right up with the grounding wire grounded out between the bracket and the mounting bolt and are controlled by a keyed LED toggle switch. I had the lights in my hand within 4 days of ordering them. Thanks for the info and link. I...

Re: 1976 Honda Goldwing For sale

I have a 1976 Honda goldwing 1000 for sale. It has sat many years but still runs. I would take 1200 cash call 606 367 5503. This is the wrong place for this, especially without pictures. At least guy took the time to fill out his profile info and filled out his bike with "1976 Honda Goldw...

Re: Lighting decision

Last year I added a set of 18W Cree LED spot driving lamps in place of my older 55 w H3 Halogen ones and what a difference !!! Pretty darn good investment for $14.98 if you ask me!! 8-) I like the price of those and might order some. They're U.S. stocked so I shouldn't have to wait 4-6 week...

Those are some pretty steep vents, there. 230% of OEM. I guess if you want some chromed plastic, you pay for it.

I think some of it has to do with there being lots of people that buy HDs because they want to be cool by dressing like a pirate and blipping the throttle at stoplights and in parking lots only to discover that riding is not for them.

Re: It is time to say goodbye.

All Police agencies distort crime facts to suit their current agendas and that is a proven thing. Of course they do but it doesn't make much sense that they would be manipulating the numbers to show less civilian violence against police when they're wanting the population to believe there's a curre...

Re: Secondary air injection removal question

I don't own a 1200 nor have I ever even touched one but I remember reading somewhere about a Dorman freeze plug that fits those holes. If I didn't have the means to make them, I'd take the hose/pipes to an auto parts store and have them find a plug that will work.

Re: 1981 gl 1100

First soaking in diesel and brake cleaner no a good idea..will expand and ruin all the rubber bits . so no you need to buy a rebuild kit..randakk's is the only one I recommend. Which doesn't matter since they'll need to be rebuilt anyway. The only concern I'd have is if soaking would affect the thr...

Re: My first post...What is the function of these ?

The solenoid on the left is part of the PAIR system (emissions control which injects air in to the exhaust) and the ones on the right are carb air jet solenoids. They work with the ECM to control fuel mixture. There are downloadable service manuals all over the internet.

Lowly sheetrocker??? Lol, yeah, us lowly finishers. That's how most of the other construction trades have always seen us. At least they think more highly of us than they do of the painters. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Hanging drywall is easy, taping and mudding is an art. Agreed. A...

If I'd had the means, I'd like to have to come that way and done your drywall for you. I've been a lowly sheetrock guy for almost 25 years now. I think that flooring will look great.
