Re: 1500 rear master cylinder

The foot brake pedal also controls the left front caliper. If you have not tended to the front left caliper, your problem may be there.

In your first pic where part of the block has been carved away what is the black wire or is that a rubber seal hanging out of the opening?
It looks to me like the alternator oil seal O-Ring that is normally on the alternator.

Actually, the alternator well should be intact, not like the above picture but like the one below.

You may be overthinking it. I have heard what sounds like a solenoid or starter clunk on occasion and never given it any more thought.

My '99 did that and my '98 does it. Never had a problem.
161,000 on the '99, 169,000 miles on the '98.

Re: Rear brake cylinder

I downloaded the picture that GlimWas posted and took as close a look as I could with Microsoft Picture Manager. It looks like the part was machined that way but not having the actual part in my hand I can not tell for sure.

Re: Rear brake cylinder

I highly doubt that explanation. This and the other port are outlets to the callipers and not inlets. So there must be pressure at these points, or else no braking and in this case reduced braking due to the large hole ......... I stand corrected. I agree. I was thinking it was the inlet port for f...

Re: Rear brake cylinder

There is no pressure at that Port. It is merely an inlet for brake fluid then provides a return route for brake fluid when the brakes are released.

Re: Rear brake cylinder

It must be from corrosion caused by moisture intrusion in the brake fluid. The brake fluid must be changed every two years and being that your bike is a 1994, that would mean it is 24 years old. How often has the brake fluid been changed?

The only way a single antenna will work is if it is something like this: https://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.as ... 15ANT-SOLO

It is a two into one AM/FM/CB antenna with a splitter to connect both radios to one antenna.

My 02 was NOT ABS. But if I remember correctly the caliper cover has the letters ABS on it
They can be changed. The ABS covers fit the same as ones without the ABS badge.

Heated jacket liner and gloves if you like riding warm. If you take the heated gear make sure you take a pigtail to hook up to the battery and a controller. Appropriate riding boots. Rain gear if your riding clothing is not water-resistant.

Re: Identifying an ABS model

Because the LF rotor spins CCW, the LF caliper floats upward when friction is applied to the rotor by the LF pads. Next to the little arrow is the secondary master cylinder. It works just like a common m/c; however, in this case, its plunger is pushed on by lifting action of the LF caliper as the p...

Re: Identifying an ABS model

An integrated braking system means that the front brake lever also applies some rear braking action, and when hitting the rear brake lever, some front braking action is applied too. ABS is a system that keeps the tires from locking up and loosing control while braking. Yes, integrated means they wo...
