Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

FM-usa-- Bless your heart!! there you go using logic and facts and then... throwing in PROOF ! That is the kind of information we need to make an informed opinion. I can pretty much guarantee that any tire manufacturer is NOT going to recommend a CT for use on a MC- no more than any MC tire co is ab...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

Looks like it is about tread, profile and application. If you are a canyon carver,MC with a round profile would be desired also road racing. Touring? What works and is comfortable. Don't expect the tire mfgr to support cross use or even acknowledge it exists. Nor should you expect to have a CT failu...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

Paulcf-- likely due to liability issues. a car tire is for a car.. a MC tire is for a MC. The tire mfgs do not test their car tires on MC, nor do the test the MC tires for auto applications- although some of the little Smart cars might qualify- the old Isettas, etc. CT on a MC? that is a riding styl...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

Switch to a Trike... you get car tires on the back for traction, stopping power with larger contact patch, x 2 and run a REAR tire on the front, mounted backwards.. that's what I was told by the Trike manufacturers..

Re: Replace my windshield

Has anyone considered windshield height AND the passenger? I have the TALL Stock shield- prefer looking OVER not through, but it keeps some of the buffeting down for my wife. My trike had an adjustable lexan with a lip at the top- LOTS of buffeting for both of us. put the stock one on, much better. ...

Re: SYNTHETIC ENGINE OIL

Met a fellow years ago, buying a case of 'cheap' oil filters. I had to ask why.. He asked me to follow him to his truck. He popped the hood on a 10 year old Ford F150- straight six- and removed a GOOD name brand filter and replaced it with a cheap one. Then he pulled the dipstick and showed me the o...

Re: starter turns over but no fire until I let off the button

My 97 Aspencade started acting up- I thought it was battery. Turns out the test was to SLOWLY release the starter button, if it starts as you release it, you have bad/dirty contacts in the starter switch. Dealer charged me $65.00 to dismantle the switch, clean contacts and reinstall it... works grea...
