Re: Is it high mileage, or low mileage?

Maintenance records are king. no records-assume nothing was done properly and price accordingly. Especially the timing belts. maybe they were changed regularly-maybe the oil was changed regularly? was the brake/clutch fluid changed and flushed? axles lubed? bearings checked? Some things you can look...

Re: motorcycle windshield wiper

The old windshields couldn't handle a wiper- scratches too easy. Make sure YOUR windshield is squeaky clean before you turn them on or you will just scrape a big arc onto the 'glass. There are sprays that make the water bead up and blow off- and us old school guys always looked OVER the top anyway.

Wave if you can.. Nod if you cant let go of the handlebar at that point.. it's a Drive Friendly thing.. Kinda country- EVERYBODY in the country waves at EVERYBODY- whether they know them or not. I see two fingers down.. sort of a- keep the two wheels on the ground- sign. At least we SEE each other--...

well, one thing they will not get-- is the HEAT VENTS and a radiator!! They still get to overhaul the top end every 30-50k miles, pay enormous prices for accessories and it will always be top heavy. When the H-D guys are sweating the traffic... we are still cool- radiator fan kicked on and still "no...

Re: Ever thought about why older wings are for sale

Us old guys buy GW's, ride them until we die, or can't ride anymore and then we or the widow sells them to a dealer- read the screed about the 40th anniversary GW not having any 'technology' improvements or style- I guess he wanted fins and electronic paint... some folks gotta have the newest, lates...

Re: 83 aspy repaint

Johnny Cash had a song about your problem- "One Piece at a Time"- get your paint- prep and paint the side pieces and the front fender- then do some more parts- eventually, you have it all done and it matches because you bought the paint from the same lot and mixed it all together...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

Sounds like you aren't accustomed to riding upright- rather than bent over the bars and tank. Some of OLD folks, just give it up and Trike the GW- you don't have to hold it up or put your feet down at a light. But, you don't GET to put your feet down at a light either.. make sure you have a REALLY g...

Re: 2015 Goldwing (40th Anniversary) disappointment

? Wow! I bought a GW Aspencade because it is a HONDA GOLDWING- the engine, the ride and all the stuff you can put on it. I didn't buy it because it has Bluetooth or green tooth or GPS or cute little electronic gauges. If that is what you want out of a motorcycle- then go buy it- even if it isn't a G...

Re: Please tell who or what made you buy a Goldwing

I had a Honda CB 77 in college. Customized with a 350 tank, Candy Orange paint. then a Yamaha 650. nice but small. Harley's are nice, but heavy- TOP heavy. heavy top end on engines, plus gas tank. GW has the gas under you and closer to the CG, making it easier to balance. Plus, it is fun to irritate...

Re: radio shuts off

At low idle is the key. Thats why I suggested a weak charging system/low voltage. Could even be a bad ground. I am NOT a Honda mechanic. Just an old school tinkerer and electronic tech. Low idle - foot/hand on brake lights on. All add a voltage drop or drain. If u can do basic electric tests check v...

Re: radio shuts off

weak charging system? when I use reverse- my radio shuts off, ALL the electric is going to the starter motor..if this is the case with your bike, you may not have enough electric power..
