Re: PETCOCK - HORROR - STORY - WHEN DID YOU LAST CHECK AND CHANGE YOURS ??

May be a dumb question but that's rarely stopped me from asking before, so here goes. A "normal" petcock has a lever with an on and off position and sometimes a reserve. This Goldwing peacock doesn't have a lever on it. What would happen if the petcock was just taken out of the fuel line and ...

Re: Motorcycle helmet shows wearer travel information while riding

Wow! $2,000 for a helmet! A new helmet is now in my immediate future now. But not this one. Too many distractions. I left mine in the shop and some rodent chewed the chin strap nearly off! My fault, I didn't put it away like I should have. May be my fault but it's still irritating. Going to fight ba...

Re: Lucas Ethanol Fuel Additive

It's now 2017 and the new EPA rules, laws, mandates, whatever they want to call them are going to be a royal p.i.t.a. This thread popped up when I was looking for something to keep my old Wing from self destructing from it's fuel. I'm glad I found it and I will try it. I've used Lucas Oil products i...

Re: The end of Ethanol-free fuel in the US

So what are those of us with older motorcycles supposed to do? Or older cars for that matter. I was planning on some nice long rides this year. The bike needs some maintenance but will it be worth the time, effort and money to do that if no useable fuel is available? Had lots of plans but now I'm no...

No. Not familiar with Senator Grassley. Is he the one that will get rich ruining engines across the nation?
Or is he going to try to stop the insanity?

I'm not in the Rio Grande valley right now, but I wish I was.
At least I'd be out riding and looking at country I ain't looked at before, not too recently anyway.

Re: The end of Ethanol-free fuel in the US

This is all very disturbing. I wish this current administration would just go away quietly. Hopefully the appointed heads under the new administration will have a modicum of common sense and work to make things better, not worse. And I'm sure before the current admin leaves, he will give us more rea...

Re: Started my winter repaint and detail.

That's not a Wal-Mart "rattle can" job is it.
I don't have the "know-how" or the proper tools to do a job like that. That old Wing is going to look new again! :D

It got up to 60° yesterday. I should have gone for a ride. I didn't, but I did get off my duff and crank it up. ;)

I feel your pain! I've gone along with and been talked in to doing so many stupid things, and yet I can't remember a specific incident. But alcohol may have played a big part. Marriage also brought on it's own little series of fubars. I'm still married (to the same woman) but I drink very rar...

Re: GAS IN NEW JERSEY

I was a gas station attendant many years ago. It was a good first job for a teenager. I reckon the worst part for me anyway, was having to pump gas in bad weather. Not every gas station had a canopy over the gas pumps like most do nowadays. And occasionally you had to explain to a customer why you c...

I thought suspending his bed above the floor was a very good idea. His windows and air vents need a screen over them. One night with mosquitoes and he'll put screens in.

It doesn't look dirty on my wally world phone. It looks real good.
To bad it's too cold to ride there. My first thought was it must take a lot of self restraint not to climb on and ride, but cold weather keeps me off mine also.

Condolences to you and your family. I lost my brother almost 17 years ago now.
Not a day has passed that I don't think about him. You don't get over it, but you learn to live with it.

Re: Having a real problem keeping my 92 1500 cc Gold Wing upright

I don't know if he's got boards or pegs, but I also hope he doesn't give up on his ' Wing. I think more saddle time is what it will take. Like me, he has no problem riding, just keeping it vertical while stopped. I put more time and miles in riding this 1500 than any other bike I've owned, before I ...
