Mainviking, I try really hard to just ignore it people that now refuse to acknowledge that I am there, but it just tears me up knowing how many I have picked up and hauled into a hospital trying to save their lives, and even tho I am no longer on a rescue squad but if a deer jumped out I can still help a downed biker. But no matter, why take that attitude? Anybody riding is a brother or sister. We all have to watch out for the deadly cager, my Honda has American history just like a Harley, , I have been riding for 40 years or more but because I am on a Honda and not a Harley they stick their nose in the air and ignore my wave. I guess pride goes deep and I can't figure out why someone has to be so petty. Sorry to vent guys.
I get that all the time. Been riding since the late 50's. Will be 80 on the 20th. of this july. It is wat it is. Some people think they are better than another because they ride a certain bike. We all bleed red. Everybody has their own choice. I still wave at anyone on two wheels. Enjoy my friend!

The GW is a better bike than any HD. I have one of each. The HD riders know it and it makes them angry so they don't wave. I heard the HDs are made in India, maybe Katmandu? If I ever get to Nepal "I'm going to Katmandu", huh?

Two weeks ago I rode my 2015 Gold Wing to Ohio via Route 30 thru Kentucky. I went for a ride with two nephews, a grand nephew and grand niece. They all rode HD. They love their Harleys, but never venture very far from home. On my Gold Wings I think nothing of a 500 mile day trip, they gasp and can only imagine going that far on a motorcycle. They ride fast and reckless, while I rarely exceed 10 mph over the limit. I don’t race 70 mph past people’s homes in a 45 mph zone on a country road. It’s about respect and safety. They thought I couldn’t keep up with them on my GL1800. I only responded with “I don’t ride like you guys do.” It’s not a race, but a journey. I turned 60 in May. I’ve been riding 45 years now on the road. I’ve been a GWRRA member since February 1987. I joined because they were good people who didn’t drink and ride, didn’t swear in public, and rarely exceeded the speed limit. Frankly, they were better than me and great role models. I can honestly say that I am a better man because a 1984 Honda Gold Wing Interstate found me, and I’m grateful for that.
Too many projects are interfering with my riding time!

Don't recall if I posted here previously and didn't take the time to search. 😁 I am 73 and have been riding since the early '60s. I currently have 3 Wings; a 94A I bought new, and 2 '76s one of them a cherry LTD. The other 76 stays at my brother's place back in Michigan. I call it my personal Fly N Ride program.

Hopefully just the rubber line let go, and you can replace it with a stainless steel braided one.
Well I removed the shock and found out there was just enough fluid in it to say it had some fluid in it! What was in there was as thin as water and dirty as can be. I completely drained it, flushed it with a light shot of brake cleaner, dried it out and added 140ml of ATF. Replaced the hypoid gear oil as well, since I had the right bag off. Put it all back together, added 20 psi of air and took her out for 30 miles in the hills. Rode like a new scoot! I really enjoy this motorcycle! Again, thanks for the comment!

I have read that the average age of goldwing rider is a bit older. I'm wondering what the average is here on this site ? and why it's older riders on goldwings ? is it price ? or knowledge ?what is it ?? I find that at 47 I seem to be young for this group but also fine that even if going a bit fast or something cops seem to look the otherway.I know that if I was on a louder bike more sporty bike or a cruiser I would have been stopped.. I don't do much with the local GWRRA as a member because they are older and riding to get ice cream with them just don't fit me. As I do ride to get ice cream. I stay a member because of Wingworld and the knowledge out there but don't seem to fit not to mention the wifes not up with that either. I do love the wing....Sally
I’m 57, soon to be 58, but I’ve had mine since I was 41, so this poll will have different outcomes based on the day it’s taken.

True enough, but the WingAdmin did just recently change the settings for the poll to allow votes to be changed/updated. It was not originally setup for that and many of us have moved into higher groups and a few have even updated their selection. Have you?

I'm 68 years of rough and tumble, from the old hard tail chops, load pipes, skinny ass seats,no helmet, same stinking clothes for a week, stop and jump into a river or a puddle to maybe get cleaned up a bit, then roll up with your boots as a pillow for a nap. Then I found what a Goldwing was really like when I used my brothers 1984 Wing, reluctantly, to make a 100 mile run. That was it. I got a chance to buy my 84', which is in rehab right now, haven't looked back at all. I bought my 93' brand new and we are still going strong. And as long as I can climb on I'll keep on trucking.
