Took the dog to the groomer today in another town and ask the groomer if there was a real genuine barber shop in town. Yep there was, this gentlemen has been cutting hair for over 40 years in the same shop. What was really cool was when I walked into the shop was that good ole leather strap hanging on the side of the chair. Eureka. We discussed and cuss politics, sports, trains, the good old days and before it was over we each new people in one way or another. He put a towel under the hot water and rung it out and wrapped it around the ears and the neck for a minute or so. Then, then the hot shaving cream out of machine. Then it happened, the straight razor slapped leather. One of the most greatest sounds in the world. Around the ears down the back you know that swish, swishh, then the long swish down the neck stopping to wipe blade then the hot towel . A little lilac vegatal around the ears and the talcum power on the duster. A real haircut. Just don't get any better than that.

I should also say I don't spell check my posts so ears should be years.

Went for a run today to look at the Valkyrie - when I finish this post I will be transferring some deposit funds into the sellers account. Impressed and grinning like a Cheshire cat at the moment - probably will not take delivery for about a month. Still need to wait for the insurance company and sell my bike - but the seller is happy - and I think I got a bargain as well.

Real barbers have just about died out here, certainly outside big cities. How much did your shave cost?

Well it appears that spring is finally arriving in Michigan. Was able to ride a few times this week and also got in a round of golf. Life is as it should be. Good Lord, the older I get the more I detest winter.

It's recorded as a 2001 CF. I should have shot a video of it - made me smile as soon as it started - very tight motor - extremely throttle responsive and a nice note to it.

Photos are very ordinary as well.. It also comes with the passenger seat and rear pegs - owner has been riding solo on it since he purchased it 9 years ago.

There is a place here in the UK, in Birmingham (2nd largest city in the UK). But it is mighty expensive,

"Traditional cut throat shave with steam preparation, hot towels, lemon essence and luxury aftershave balms.
£32.50". That works out to around $40, at least you get a free shoe shine.

Shave and a hair cut. Two bits. Where did you get it? At Schmits! Who was the barber? Tom Mix!

Rebuilt carbs have been reinstalled, cam belts replaced, and fired up the engine on this restored Wing to hear it come to life after a long absence from the roads. Tomorrow, putting the rest of the fairing back on and taking it for a short drive. (weather be darned) The day after that, license plate and potentially a longer ride for testing purposes.

A little air for the tires, a little air for the suspension, and a little air for me.
The bike that I had only been able to put 2 miles on before addressing its issues has another 30 put on it today.
(just don't tell the police, it has insurance, but no plates until tomorrow)

Just got back from a week in New York and I'm totally knackered, not to mention jet lagged. I must have walked miles. Had a good week though, saw the sites, walked in Central Park, took in a show, saw precious few bikes and half of those were new Triumphs. Still plenty to see if I ever go back.

I was in NYC once, many years ago. Would never care to go there again and was sorry that I went then. I think there are more idiots there than in LA and that's saying something!

An absolutely beautiful day in Mid-Michigan. Took a ride to a swap meet near here. Was disappointed that 95% of the bikes there were HDs. Did see one really nice 1800 Trike.

Is that even possible? L.A. wins the idiot award hands down, but NYC wins the obnoxious award.
