Here is a link to a very brief video -of the bike starting.

Nothing startling as we had some issues during the day - and one of the injectors is not working - but it started

Just spent $800 replacing tires on my car, and this afternoon my wife killed the front tire on her car with a pothole - so there's another $1200 gone on tires. Not exactly a great day.

That said, I pulled out my snowblower this morning for the first time this year, primed it, set the choke and pulled the starter, and the engine fired up before I had even pulled the starter all the way out! 20 year old snowblower, gotta love that Briggs and Stratton. They don't make them like that anymore!

Gotta love potholes - but at least it was in the car- might have been different if you were on the bike.

Still an expensive morning.

I rode out to my mothers to take her on a practice ride in preparation for a day trip I'm taking her on for her 71st b-day! It was a short ride from her place in Oso out to Darrington and back and she loved it and had a great time, we are looking all set to make the trip down to Long Beach and back in mid June.
Winging it every chance I get 8-)

19,119 miles when I got it from dad Oct 15, 2017 --- 26,975 miles and counting as of Aug 15, 2019!

Just finished shoveling out about 4 cubic yards of stone and gravel from the back of my p/u truck to line each side of my new sidewalks and driveway apron in 93* temps this morning. Maybe later i'll take a bike ride up Mt. Lemon this afternoon when the temps here hit 102* to put a few miles on the bike,(which has been sitting idle for a few weeks), and get a little sun tan lol.

Been travelling for a few weeks for work, and have come to the conclusion I need a new rear tyre on the Valkyrie.

Rang a few motorcycle local dealers yesterday, to see if they could get the tyre changed for me and also if they would swap it to a car tyre.

Of the 3 I called - one took three minutes to answer the phone, and then ummed and ahhed if they would do it - then said the boss would call me back.

The second dealer answered quickly - seemed knowledgeable and was ok to change it - just needed to make an appointment, estimating an hour to do the work - as I don't have any facilities to take the rear wheel off.

The third dealer never answered.

Purchased a 205/55/16 tyre this morning and took it to dealer number 2, and fingers crossed I should have a new rear tyre on the bike tomorrow morning.

The old rear tyre is over 8 years old - gone hard and was starting to slip a bit when cornering - so it needs to be done.

Will take a few photos when it is fitted, and let you all know how it feels.

Cheers

Went out last Sunday and entered my Valkyrie in a local club show day event. This club I joined a few weeks ago, it is called the Macquarie Towns Motorcycle Restoration & Preservation Club or MTMRPC.

Anyhow I joined to have my 1982 Honda CX500 Turbo bike registered under historic plates - which will let me ride it for up to 60 days per year to club events and such other events I may want to enter and to enjoy some rides around the local countryside. But seeing as it isn't registered yet I cannot legally ride it anywhere.

So the Valkyrie got a very quick clean on Saturday afternoon - but I never got around to polishing or cleaning the rims at all. So was not expecting any results at all based on the quality of the bikes entered.

And I got the surprise of my life when I was called out and received 2nd Prize in the 1992-2001 category.

Find attached a link to only a few photos - I got sunburnt walking around without a hat.. and there are two showing the Trophy :D

having the ST 1100 means I want to add a few things to it. didn't have a lot of time but I got the aux lights mounted. I have a set of lights like the lower ones on the Mighty ST 1300 but have to find a different place to mount them on the ST 1100

In many areas, including New Jersey, it's illegal to have any driving lights mounted higher than the headlight
on any vehicle. Those lights above the mirrors could get you a ticket.

Went to a local car show today, and am a member of the club- it's a face book group really, anyway I got roped into doing the MC work as my son in law ducked out on this role.

Had a great time - haven't finished loading all the photos yet - so thought you may enjoy some of the pictures

I'm at work - been riding my Turbo for the last week. The Valkyrie has failed to proceed.

Mechanic will diagnose the issue today. I am leaning towards some broken teeth on the starter gear - at luckiest I have a worn out starter motor. Purchased new brushes last week and sent them off with the Valkyrie on Friday afternoon with bike being taken to my mechanics about 40km away.

Just another day - could be expensive when I hear back :|

Valkyrie problem solved a few weeks ago - damaged brushes and starter motor commutator in dire need of a good clean up.

New brushes - and now I know how a good starter motor turns my engine over.

Off on a VJMC rally on Tuesday afternoon - about a 2000km round trip - from Penrith NSW to Helensvale in Queensland and return - 2 1/2 day trip up and plan on a 2 day trip on the way back with 4 days at the rally in between. will put up a route map in a short while

https://goo.gl/maps/7Kc2UbUJDCZufxGw5

Taking my 1982 CX500 Turbo - put a video camera mount on the front mud guard and went round the block this afternoon - let me know what you think of the video - probably not the best quality - but have it set to VGA to give extended hours recording - up to a bit over 7 at this quality.

Has not happened today - but over the last week I have had to (or a plumber has) replace all sewerage and storm water pipes in our front yard.

This resulted from me trying to be "green" many years ago - by planting several native trees in our front yard - whilst they gave the house a nice street appeal - the damage they have caused by blocking pipes and cracking my driveway over the last 5-6 years became too much - so you see the result below and a few thousand dollars to fix it as well.

Will be replanting front lawn and levelling out for the next few years.. and NO MORE TREES EVER on our block of ground.

And finally it has been finished - apart from me patching my driveway in a week or so - and putting down some grass seed and mulch over the dirt for a temporary fix.

cheers guys

During this time I also managed to redo the Valkyrie front brake calipers as they were starting to stick a little bit..
