about a week ago the CT 70H motor started having trans problems so JW swapped motors and put the XL 70 motor in but we didn't notice the broken exhaust studs. sunday I took the Mighty CT70 over to my buddy tony and he got the studs out, put the exhaust on and fired it up. yesterday I put the frame cradle on played with the carb some and adjusted the clutch then took it on its first ride with the XL motor

Took advantage of the unexpected warm(ish) weather today and rode down to the local port, about 40minutes away. I spent some time watching the trucks and trailers being loaded onto the ferry. The picture shows the Pride of Hull which sails each evening, sailing to (tonight) the Dutch city of Rotterdam, she will return tomorrow night, back to her home port. The ship doesn't look very big from the angle I was at but to put it into perspective, she is just 50 metres shorter and some 3 metres wider than the Titanic.

This is my favourite way to get to the continent, a short drive to the docks - there are two ferries, the other one goes to Belgium, ride or drive on board and settle down to a good meal and a few drinks (there are some four bars to choose from) and then go to bed for the remainder of the 12 hour crossing. The main drawback is the eye watering cost. However, it means that I don't have the tedious 5 hour ride to the channel tunnel on the South coast, and it cuts out a night in a hotel. Sailings in summer are generally smooth though the North Sea can get a bit rough in winter.
