Found this locomotive near my house....within 10 miles surprisingly .....Woodburn Oregon .........don't know if anyone has ever seen a cell tower shaped like a tree. They blend in pretty well.....if it's too hard to find how's a covered bridge sound....

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Dang it, you guys beat me! I took a ride this morning down to the Snoqualmie Falls area where they have some old trains nearby, and I also came across a couple stop sign RR xings which I wasn't expecting to find. I'll be on the lookout for tree shaped cell towers and covered bridge sounds!

Winging it every chance I get

Well that has made everything splendidly clear. I know what a bell tower is, here is the view of my parish church taken from my front door. I doubt though this is what you mean.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Pretty amazing places that we as people get used to being surrounded by and not seeing said places as what they really are. Man made or natural ...... amazingly stunningly beautiful.......that said here's a cell tower tree... they like to have them blend in to the trees sort of in Oregon where they can...

Rockdog:
Good job done, and very fast though, your pictures are great; I love those old steamers.
Stew:
Sorry about this, but even you've found the trains and RR crossing (I love them too) it doesn't count this time
Congratulation to both of you.
What really marvells me is the fact that they had imagined those machines, didn't have nothing to copy from.
Industry has perfected the internal combustion motor, but the action is the same as it was over a hundred years ago.
Keep your good work and ride safely.

Ah, cell as in mobile phone. Now it makes sense. There is nothing like that in the UK, not that I have seen, what a good idea. Though mobile phones did give disused factory chimneys a new lease of life.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
The closest I could get is across the street, anywhere on the other side of the intersection and I'd either be blocking traffic or up on the sidewalk. This is the covered bridge before going into Arlington High School just off Hwy 9.
For the next challenge: a picture of your Goldwing next to a sign that is either "Next Services" or "Next Rest Area", 50 miles or greater will count. Like the examples below. For you guys not in the US, whatever your equivalent road signs would be. Let the games begin

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
I got kinda lucky with that covered bridge being in the area
With my new job my weekends are now Thu-Fri for the next couple weeks and then Wed-Thu for the next few months after that. Kinda nice if I'm riding somewhere like my ride out to Winthrop posted in the 'Trip Info, Reports & Gatherings' section because traffic is light, but since most people have Sat-Sun off it will make it harder to connect up with non-retired riders.

Hi Stew:
It's been over a month since this mark w/o any answer, won't you think it'll be time to call a new one to keep it rolling??
Thank you in advance.

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Sounds good to me! We'll get rid of the requirement for those signs to be greater than 50 miles (I actually thought this was going to be pretty easy), and add a new option.
You can also get a picture of your Goldwing next to red barn, that should be easier those are everywhere!

No red barns in Europe? I'll be darned, I thought that was kind of a universal thing.brettchallenger wrote: ↑Mon Nov 19, 2018 1:45 pmDid that one - check page 13. Oh, and we don't have them in Europe.
It's getting hard thinking of interesting stuff... Ok, the above mentioned signs with no mileage restrictions, or your Goldwing by one of those restaurant chef statues that you see outside. There's many variations, any one will work. Here are a couple of examples, I'm sure you've all seen them:

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?
Ok, so there is probably the odd barn that someone has painted red, but they are not ubiquitous as in the US. Tried to find one for you but no real luck. I did find an entire website dedicated to English barns though - so someone is interested. No red barns in Europe?

Adding another option to try and move this along...
Your Goldwing at a Christmas tree lot, bonus points if you actually have a tree on it lol. Even more bonus points if you get people scratching their head in the pic wondering what the heck you're doing
So you can get your 'Wing in a pic with rest area or next service signs, a restaurant chef statue or at a Christmas tree lot.
