Hello GW enthusiasts from newbie in PA.
Upgraded from Honda Reflex to GL1500 in July 2017.
I really appreciate the information exchange of such forums.
I was lucky to find a beautiful 93 SE, black, with about 2k in chrome and LED lights. 54k miles.
I experienced low speed wheel wobble (1-5 mph) on the new machine, and found solutions here.
I wish I could recall and reference the writers on great tips that helped me correct the wobble.
First tip was replacing sagging front fork springs. Tip said use a speed wrench while standing on the pegs to remove/replace spring caps.
I had to strap myself to handlebars to get enough downforce to compress new springs-but it worked like a charm.
Thought something went wrong when wobble reappeared big one day... Flat front tire. Rode 10 miles to work still.
The fault was the stem- held air enough to get her home -15 miles.
Then I tightened the bearing head - by feel- no torque wrench. ( who did I lend that to???)
Gave her a yank and a kiss and that further improved the situation.
Oh-big tip was using a 1 11/16" socket on the spanner nut. Worked like a charm.
Riding with much more confidence and pleasure now. Especially 2 up.
Put about 3500 miles on in 2 months.
She's smooth when you treat her smooth, and she whines when you hammer her- that is, the transmission is a bit loud when under power. Not even noticeable when wearing a full helmet though.
Thanks for listening and sharing.

Nice ride, Scoot....the black always looked good and could do so much with add-ons that look good on it. Welcome to the group.
Keep riding, keep reporting, keep ...... (damn, I need to go riding, lol).

Great looking ride Murph. I bought my '93 Aspencade in 1999 and I've never regretted it. I just got back from a 3K trip to Wisconsin and the U.P. and it was a pleasure to ride. I see no reason to change.....BTW, I have three scooters that I ride too.

The whine you are experiencing under load is because the bike is black, not red. The red bikes are the faster enabled ones and do not whine under load.

I saw an FB6 recently and was admiring the seat...
The rider approached and stated it was a Russel Day Long seat. It looked comfy.
He stated it was, and that it is heated too. Very good investment he chided.
$1200 for the seat, on a 2013 bike.
Oh I want one.
My original 24 yr old seat is lacking big time.
When I pushed on the Russel with my hand, it was a firm cushion.
I'm going to try to refoam my seat this fall.
Hey minimac, how about those scooters. Light and nimble and fun.
Great for scooting around alleys and around the county. I haven't ridden mine since getting the wing .
My scooters are both red and very quite...
