Hello motorbike people
Great info and shared experience here especially for a returning rider.thought I'd entertain you with this..
The Purchase
I decide to buy myself a wing. Always loved the boxer 6 engines. The Honda 250 Reflex just wasn't enough anymore.
So I test rode a 94 wing at when local HD dealer. Nice but didn't do it for me.
It was gold and very plain looking.
I didn't anything about wings at that time.
I began to shop on the web. A real looker found on eBay. So I bid and win.
I wanted it. $3951.
So two weeks after that test ride, I'm heading up 2.5 hrs into nice PA country to see it.
It is a beauty to my eyes.
Ran like a champ too.... as I hung on for dear life hammering a bit.
So I was lucky there I'll say.
Payed the man and she was mine.
Haven't been on a big bike in 30 years.
So a nice ride back I'm thinking, and that it was. One little mishap-right side cover blew off at 60.
My girl saw it go- it hit the deck and broke in two .
So I replaced that, the front springs and oil, changed oil n filter , and rode 4k in first 5 months of ownership .
It is a great bike.
I got lucky. It hasg cool led lighting too.
I'm lovin it.
And today I turn lucky 60.
Holy cow
See ya on the road

Re: Adventure getting my 93 SE ; The Purchase
My local dealer had side cover grommet kits for about $6.
I considered tethering mine, but it isn’t necessary with good grommets.

When all else fails, RTFM!

Yup, Cyclemax sells em by the bag. I have a couple of bags of them here. If a grommet disappears or seems iffy, I just swap it out and throw the old one away.

a very light coat of Vaseline on the grommet makes them last longer.
and removing them is much easier.
it should have no effect on them getting lost, provided the grommet is new or in good condition.

Re: Adventure getting my 93 SE ; The Purchase
Thanks for the well wishes and tips.
I like the Vaseline tip.
Went for a ride Sunday Dec 3.
May have been last one for a while . 47 degrees...first hour+ was ok, but last hour I was ready to park it.
I guess its time to figure out how to do some maintenance .
Planning trips to Tennessee , and later to Fla, for next summer.
