Had a ride out to an old car/bike meeting in the market square at a place called Stoney Stratford. The place was packed with cars and bike (and people) overflowing the market place into side streets and two other car parks. At 12.00 midday the Town Crier called for engines to be started and reved for one minute as a greeting to the New Year. It sounded great but must have upset the weather gods, ten minutes later the heavens opened and it hammered down. After 15 minutes it showed no sign of easing so I called it a day and went home. I must have gone 20 miles before it finally stopped raining. Pity as an awful lot of expensive machinery got very wet.

Re: New Year's Day ride out
Nice! I love the D Jag.This was the first New Years Day I didn't ride, at least a few miles, in many years. I've never been accused of being the sharpest knife in the drawer, but 35+" of snow(over the weekend) and 14* below zero doesn't make for an enjoyable ride!

Yeah minimac, and double your snow and lower your temps to -32, and you know why us Canucks don't ride in the winter.
Sidcar, them are some cool autos and bikes. We have car shows here but never see any of that old Brit stuff like the Jags and MGs. The MGs we might see here are the two seater tiny lil thangs.

Sidcar, you should have just got into your sidecar and put the top up until it quit raining. Like I do with mine. hehe

Last few pictures.
I thought about sitting in the sidecar 'til it stopped but in this country there was a good chance I'd have been there all day.

Clearly, all that carbon caused some climate change and hence the rain. Hang your head in shame.called for engines to be started and reved for one minute as a greeting to the New Year. It sounded great but must have upset the weather gods, ten minutes later the heavens opened and it hammered down.
By the way, Katy was also the name of the ambulance in "Ice Cold in Alex"
