Where does one hang a gremlin bell?
I generally hang the gremlin bell on the part of the bike that’s been giving me hell.

on the display rack in the store, I consider them to be a trendy superstitious piece of nonsense that servers no actual purpose. If you must have one, it is generally put low near the front of the bike

Ride safe, Todd

To get the superstition correct, the bell must be given to you and it has to be a Frisco bell as told to me. Besides that you are riding the wrong brand.

Re: Where does one hang a gremlin bell?
I agree with both Road Rogue and Redbug. One, it should stay in the store, and Two, is it not normally only put on Harleys? The superstition is that it is supposed to keep parts from falling off. I rode a lot of Harleys without the benefit of one of them there silly bells, and no parts fell off in about 800,000 miles, so what do that say? Maybe wear it on your boot to keep you from falling off the motorcycle.

So that is what that Bell I pulled off of the right side engine guard was for. Im putting a stick on it and gonna use it to call the wife. I figured I'll get one use out of it.

Haha, yeah I'd try that too but I don't think it'd do me much good and might actually get me in trouble!brian.peters wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 4:05 pmI'm putting a stick on it and gonna use it to call the wife. I figured I'll get one use out of it.

When I bought my current (used) ride, I could not figure where the high pitch ring came from......lower right side on the case saver....UGH! Hanging on a peg board in my garage now where it belongs. Oh, and I have not lost any pieces yet (been 4-5 years)

Re: Where does one hang a gremlin bell?
JMO: Hang it pretty much wherever you want on the bike. It's just one of those pieces of bling that some buy for the bike. It serves no useful purpose. It's kinda like buying any other gadget accessory for the bike, not really needed, just something you might want.

Every motorcycle can out perform it's rider.

I bet these are some of the same ones that set around and just wait for some poor new guy to ask about which oil is best.

Re: Where does one hang a gremlin bell?
Mine is hanging from the trailer hitch - I figured if it's positioned at the front of the bike then when the gremlins lose their grip they can bounce off the pavement and grab something on the bike as it passes, but if it's hanging off the back then once they fall they're gone for good!

Re: Where does one hang a gremlin bell?
I too thought these were silly and did not plan on putting one on my bike. Then last spring when we rode to Myrtle Beach for the spring bike week, while I was fueling the bike another rider (whom we did not know) approached my wife and gave her a bell with the printed story of them. She (and also I) thought this was quit cool of him and needless to say it still hangs on the helmet lock under the trunk.

Mine was given to me by a veteran at a Patriot Guard Funeral. Sadly the next funeral we did was his so mine will always be there.

Re: Where does one hang a gremlin bell?
It is a fun thing bikers do, a way to bring us together, if I see one on a bike, I think......they get it, give one to a friend, it's all in fun, as said before, it's some bling, if you don't like it fine, don't put it on, but no need to knock anyone else for wanting to join the fun....enjoy!!

Re: Where does one hang a gremlin bell?
Was given a bell, and put it on the Hwy peg. Last winter in Arizona I kept hearing this jingle, took quite a while to come to the conclusion it was the bell.
