It would be too much work if it were not so much fun.

Glad that you're enjoying it! Me, now that I'm old, find it harder to find joy in doing anything remotely connected with work

These bikes have kept me sane. If I didn’t have something to occupy my mind through these winter months I’d go crazy. They also challenge my demons. I can get intensely uptight working on these things.

Ok, now one runs well the other does not. The one that does not has had the carbs rebuilt. So I’m going to switch out the carbs and see what happens. There is definitely a problem with the rebuilt carbs. So going to tear into them a third time.....

Good luck. Who did the rebuilding? DIY or a shop?

Re: Naked and on the home stretch
Hate to say it....but doing it myself. I did not split the carbs and plenum the first time...so, that’s what I did today. Using all Randakks parts. Everything looks fine and is clear. I was tempted to send them out for a $500 rebuild. There are only 18,000 miles on them...and 43 years! Haven’t found anything obviously wrong with them, it’s a bit frustrating, but I love doing it.

No rest for the wicked
Now an oil leak....from the water pump weep hole. Ordered a pump and gasket kit.
