Phantom Seat Belt Disorder!

Post by Choctaw » Mon Apr 23, 2018 11:51 am

I thought this was interesting. Basicly when I leave the house I have all my armor and gear on that include motorcycle gloves, armored jacket, pant's with kevlar and armored knees, helmet and ear plugs. Recently I've noticed the oddity of feeling like I'm missing something for the first few times I left the house. I couldn't exactly figure out what that it was and it was bugging the heck out of me. About the fourth time I left the house I finally figured it out. As I started down the driveway I instinctivly wanted to put a safety belt like when I leave with the car!

Yup, I get that sometimes, too. I think it's whatever you get used to. I know when I was in flight school, flying for hours a day and once in a rare while driving my car, I used to get in my car and feel less than secure because I wasn't tightly strapped in with a a full harness over each shoulder.

I can also recall during that time driving to the grocery store one day and having a car in front of me brake suddenly. My first instinct was to yank back on the steering wheel to go up and over him, and when that didn't work (my car inexplicably didn't leave the ground), I tried the brakes. :)
