Post by rcgreg » Thu May 24, 2018 1:21 pm

So we all have things that bug us, that we would change if we had the power
So now you have the power - what would you change?
For me - all those card readers at the checkout stand would
have the same keyboard layout

Kings don't have to carry money, at least our Queen doesn't - it is technically all her's anyway.

Texting or talking on the phone while driving would result in an automatic mandatory one-year license suspension and a $10,000 fine. DUI would be mandatory lifetime suspension and a $100,000 fine.

I'm tired of dodging swerving, careless, inattentive and drunk drivers on the roads. Riding is becoming less and less fun each year, and more and more about survival.

This may be a bit right wing, but that is what I am so -

Any intentional violent crime should be punishable by death. Accidental crime, such as stealing a loaf of bread because your kids are starving should be immediately expunged, with the exception that if you do it three times it becomes a capital crime. Same thing with non violent crime. Two slaps on the wrist and third time, an axe to the neck. Prisons should be closed and thereafter, due to the first thought above would not need to be reopened. I believe that crime, although it would not stop all together, would diminish to a manageable level. Anyone on welfare should get to earn it by doing roadside cleanup, etc, in a humane fashion, being given food and water while working. Disabled folks should be taken care of properly, in a way that does not allow them to spend their livelihood or their children's livelihood on drugs or cigarettes or alcohol. I could probably go on all day, but you get where I am going, I am sure.

Oh, one other thing. Government numbers and their interference in peoples lives would diminish.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Gotta agree on that one, and the ones that are harder material that poke you in the neck
usually in a decreasing radius exit from a freeway :)

Cash only. No cards except buying stuff on the internet.

Digital money is pure evil. What happens if the grid is down..? No cash....no gas...no food...no nuthin'. Look what happens to all the East-Coasters when the hurricanes hit and they go to the store for food..? (That's if it's not one of the "life-ending events" they like to advertise now......or if they're not ORDERED to evacuate.)
I have some friends in Connecticut. They used cash to get some things because the store owner had a RECEIPT BOOK he could use to record sales. Their kid doesn't use cash, so he wasn't able to get anything. Then he whined about it.

If you let the banks control your money 100%.....it's up to them what happens to you.
It's not WHAT you ride......it's THAT you ride.

Just before I retired the fine for using a hand-held phone while driving a truck was $2600 to the driver, and over $10,000 for the company. Not what you are wanting, but still pretty steep. Not saying that's not warranted, but the crazy thing is the vast majority of truck involved accidents are caused by car drivers, not the trucks. And the penalties for talking or texting while driving a car are, even where they exist, not enforced unless an accident is involved.
