Novelty License Plates

Post by Bones66 » Thu Jun 28, 2018 2:25 pm

I Live in a state where a license plate is not required for our trailers. I know there are those who dispute this and depending on what Statute you read will find this law very ambiguous. This post is not about this. Please Read On.

There are several companies who produce a state look alike license plate. I am interested in having my state plate (look alike) with a custom number/name put on it for my trailer. I wouldn’t even be interested in doing this if my trailer didn’t have a spot ready made for a plate with lights etc. It would greatly improve the looks of that area of my trailer with a plate attached. My concerns if it appears to be an original license plate attached to the rear of my trailer is that legal? Just thinking, if I was riding along pulling the trailer an a LE officer pulled alongside and run my (official looking) trailer plate am I putting myself at risk of a citation? Just being pulled over is not a major concern but I’d rather it not go any further.
Thanks!

Get one like this. You are sure to be pulled over.
