First time posters, say hello!

Post by WingAdmin »

I'm not entirely sure why, but this month we've seen something on the site that I haven't seen before - a large number of users posting messages along these lines:
Hi there, I've been a member of the site for many years, but this is my first post...
So if you fall into that category, you've been using GoldwingDocs for a reference for a while, or perhaps you're a brand new user - reply to this thread and say hello! Tell us about yourself, where you're from, your bike, anything! We're a friendly bunch, we'll certainly say hello!

Received an informative email today. Decided to take the recommendation to say hello to the group.

So, I'm new to the wing community having joined a year ago when I bought a used 2008 GL1800HPN (42k odo).

Although I'm new to riding a wing, I'm not new to Honda or motorcycling. I own and operate a 2016 harmony lawn mower (replaced a 1994 model), a 2002 Civic LX (nearing 100k odo), a handy portable generator, and a 1972 CB360 (needs work, but can run).

I'm a career Air Force veteran, and lived in Texas, Mississippi, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Bosnia, Croatia, Guam, Japan, Azores Portugal, Hawaii, and Okinawa. In many of those places I rode around on two wheels and a motor. Vespa, Cub, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley, and Honda I've ridden my fair share of motorcycles.

So I've settled down, for a while, by Scott AFB in the St Louis area. I've kept the CB360, Harley Sportster, and added a Honda Goldwing.

Nice to meet everyone,
Nivad

Hello All
I had my 1st wing in 1977 that being a K2 model since then I have always owned at least one wing I have had numerous GL1000s including a couple of 1975 K0 models one of which I still own had a 1200 aspencade then moved on to 1500 and in2002 bought my 1st 1800 loved it did quite a few miles on that visiting many treffens inc trips to Russia + Ukraine events but due to a few health problems for me and my wife we just can not cope with long trips on the bike any more so we did something I said would never ever happen we bought a motorhome and trailer to attend events never thought I would see the day but we still enjoy it even though I feel like a cheat when I pull on site but we hope to carry on for a good while yet My current bikes are 1975 GL1000 K0 1977 gl1000 K2 1996 Valkyrie + 1997 gl1500

Best Regards

I have been a member for years, but never posted. I've owned GL1000, GL1200 and two different GL1500s. Currently have 2000 GL1500 SE with 88K miles. Vietnam vet and have been riding for 56 years. Live in southeastern Arizona (20+ years) and love it. Lived in Phoenix for over 24 years, ugh. My motto? ride as much and as often as you can.

Howdy, fellow Wing riders. I'm from the Great State of Texas. I'm not new to this bunch of riders because I joined back in 09'. Briefly, I've been riding Wings exclusively since 1978. I've owned a 78' GL1000, a 87' GL1200 Interstate, a 94' GL1500 SE, a 96' GL1500 SE and my current ride, an 05' 30th Anniversary model. All of my previous Wings had well over 100K on the odometer when I sold them and I'm working on the 05', it currently has 97K on it. Just like to say this forum has a great bunch of folks here it's very informative on all models of Gold Wings. Welcome to all the new members, I think you'll enjoy your stay! Ride Safe! 8-)

Hello, I am Chad and I have an 82 Aspencade that is currently in pieces. I was given the bike by a family friend just before he passed with ALS. I need some encouragement to finish this bike. I am mechanically inclined but this bike needs help. I have almost everything I need to get it running. Any good mechanics is Ma. on This site? Look forward to meeting up at an event someday.

Hi to all.
I joined in March of this year and have posted several times, but here’s my scoop.
I am 59, born and raised in North East Texas and now call Rockport Tx home. My wife enjoys riding as much as I do and we have put many miles on our Goldwings.
We have owned many bikes and out of those were a 1981 GL1000 Interstate, 1985 GL1200 LTD, 2 1988 GL1500s and now have a 1999 GL1500SE.
Of all the forums I checked for info, Goldwingdocs seemed to have the best format and a lot of knowledge. I have saved a lot of time getting our bike road worthy using the DYIs and getting answers from all of you good folks.
Thanks,
Dave
