Darkside pressure question???

Post by f1xrupr » Mon Jul 02, 2018 9:09 am

I am running a Federal Formoza FD2 175/60 R16 on the rear of my 96 Aspy (not the best choice maybe), and I'm running it at 37 psi to achieve satisfactory handling, but still has a bit of instability in quick turning at road speed, and wanders at 25-35 mph.
Question-anybody out there over-inflating? I over-inflated to 48 psi and it felt better at slow speeds, but I chickened out and went on the low side of max (max is 44 psi I think).

My exercise bike is a goldwing.

that is something you just have to experiment with.

on my 1800 at I started at 58 psi, dropped it in stages until it was at 34 psi.
that tire is a RF ZP and has very stiff sidewalls.

not familiar with your tire, if it is not a RF, you will need more air pressure for proper handling.

Look on the sidewall of the tire, whatever it says for max pressure is safe and more won't hurt it to a point, they have a pretty good margin of safety built in. That max pressure is with the tire cold (at ambient temperature) the pressure can go up substantially as the tire gets hot, leave it alone.
