Craigslist woes !

Is there anybody in here that knows anything about craigslist?
My problem is every time I try to post my add for the 2002 gl1800 I have for sale it gets removed immediately even before it gets posted.
I even deleted my account and created a new one using my secondary email address and the same thing happens.
Trying to get help from craiglist is next to impossible.
I must have peed off the Craigslist gods or something. haha

on occasion, the software does not like something about a post and it disappears.

if it disappears after it has been up for 15 minutes or more, it is a troll just watching and making like hard on folks by Marking them for removal.

I have noticed that their format has changed since I last used it.
If you link to an external image host, it is banned immediately.

you must use their image uploading software only.

Thanks for the reply. Like you I had a craigslist account for many years. At first my post would remain for a couple of days and then be removed.
Now when I post, it never even makes it on the site. When I go to check it , it is not there and my account says it was removed.
So I deleted my account and set up a new one. Same thing, it is removed before it is even posted.I am using there hosting site. I drag files from my pic folder and drop them onto there site. If I go my account and click on display it shows the add but says it was removed.

In the beginning when I first posted my add would be there for a few days but there was a guy spamming everyone for there vin. numbers. He would pretend to be interested but then would ask for for a vin report from a place like carfacts but one created by him. After this happend a few times I did a google search on the ones he suggested I use at half the cost of carfacts. They were created by a guy in Sweden and were 3 weeks old and woth 8.25 cents. The ones he wanted me to use were vincheck.com and vinspy.com.
I sent him a letter and told him I knew where he was and what he was doing and that I was reporting him to Craigslist. I also called him several choice names and told him if I had the money I'd come to Sweden break all his fingers and reach down his throat and rip out his lungs. hahaha I wonder if he has some way of knowing me and he is doing this. Even with my new account. ???

I just tried to post it again. In my account it says it's active until there system up dates it's posts and then it is removed before it ever gets to show up ???

Yes, all my previous listings are gone as well.
I wonder if something has gone gunny bags with there system. I have never had this problem before.

I see many adds that are being re-posted. I did get it to stay posted awhile bck for almost a week and then it was flagged and removed and I have not been able to post it since. I think tomorrow I will try posting with my girl friends yahoo address instead of my gmail address.

I suspect it is your IP address that is flagged, not your email address.

why not try out a free vpn and post it up again.

Also you could save info to your phone, go to any FREE WIFI & post. That show a dif. IP.

Well this is just plain screwy. Tonight I logged in with my girl friends cell phone hot spot and posted the add . It has been up and running now for about 45 minutes but it shows up on the main motorcycle page. If I do a search for Honda Goldwings or Goldwings or Gold wings or any combination it will not show up with all the other wings. I used her IP address but my computer and my email addy and password.
grrrrrrrr, I think craigslist is mucked up. I'm about ready to give up.

Would someone here please search Craigslist and see where my wing shows up. It's a 2002, titanium color sitting in front of a Tea Kettle shaped gas station with red and white pumps, it's listed for 7,975.00 dollars. Let me know if it's just on the main page or if you can find it listed by searching for gold wings . I have it listed in the Portland, Oregon, vancouver wa. area Cowlitz and Clark counties. I am located in Woodland, Wa.

NO Aluminum frames for me.
HECK, I'll shoehorn in a 1800 in a 1500 frame if I had to. I don't care if they said they fixed the issue with the early 1800 frames breaking.

the early frame issue has been gone so long, it is NOT an issue any more.

my 2002 never had the problem.

don't want to dampen your sale prospects, but I only paid $7,000 for a fully tricked out 2002 almost 3 years ago from a dealership. prices are severely depressed these days.... we know what we think it is worth, but the market and location, determines what it will bring.

I can weld steel on the road, can't aluminum.
Besides being far more expensive, it is VERY difficult to find a quality welder of aluminum.
Nope, not for me. Happened then, will happen again.

You certainly do not have to worry about the condition of this wing.

Hi redbug, thanks for checking. I just checked and it is still listed on the main motorcycle page way down the list. It still does not appear in the goldwing listings. So I guess it never will for whatever reason I do not know? I may delete the add tonight and try again. I'll let you all know when I do. I must have angered the almighty Craigslist gods.

It's true, welding aluminum takes special equipment and skill to prevent flash corrosion on the surface of the aluminum as it is welded, which will cause early failure of the weld.

Not to mention...aluminum has a life limit on how many times it can be flexed. Hit that limit, and it WILL crack and fail. Not so with steel - stay below its stress limit, keep it from corroding, and steel will last pretty much forever. That's why aircraft airframes (nearly entirely aluminum) have a life limit on them, either in terms of hours or cycles (landings). After that limit has passed, the airframe is no longer airworthy.

Dang.... now wingadmin is at it to. And to think all I wanted was to know why Craigslist was removing my adds.
Must have something to do with flexing aluminum to much or the suppressed mid west motorcycle market.
I am so lucky to get all these free lessons.
