Leaving today about 5:00 PM for New York followed by Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and New Mexico. Should be just over 4,000 miles maybe approaching 5,000.
I'll be on my GL1800, my son on his Yamaha FJR1300ES. His hitch didn't come in so he can't try out his "new" Uni-Go trailer. I was hoping since it leaves me more space in the Bunkhouse when we stop to put things away. But it will be here when we get back and he can use it then.
Ride Safe Everyone!

Re: TRIP
Epic!
Is this a "Git 'er Done" or a "Smell the Roses" tour?
Either way, enjoy.

Re: TRIP
They're telling people not to leave yet, I guess they want to avoid premature evacuation.

Re: TRIP
Hi Everyone,
We are back. This was a stop and smell the roses trip. We visited my brother in New York state and he saw his mom in Tennessee while I stopped in Virginia.
We avoided the storm track and swung inland so our trip was sort of dry. I hit solid rain going into Virginia for about 3-4 hours. Other than that, the weather was perfect. I have decided that if I head south or east again, I am getting a small air conditioner because that humidity and heat kills me especially with no breeze!
Ended up sleeping across from a couple with a bunkhouse trailer, her ride was a spider, his a GL1800. Great visit.
We ran the Tail of the Dragon and had a blast with it. My son wants to go back and ride it again. He beat me by about 10 minutes but then I was towing a trailer but I still got into the curves and riding it hard. We saw the SAC Museum in Nebraska, USAF Museum in Dayton (Allow 1-2 days), Niagara Falls, The USS Alabama (Battleship Park), rode the coast along Hwy 90, and then up towards home.
Total mileage on the trip: 5,602 miles. Average towing the trailer, about 33 mpg. High about 37, low about 32. Bike ran flawlessly. Bought it with 26,000 miles on it in October 2017 (its the 2006 model) and it now over 44,000 miles. It's a great ride!
