Re: Trike with a difference
I own a 2012 can am rts spyder. have had it for a fuzz over 3 years now. I also have an old 1982 gl1100 interstate which I just acquired back in October 2018. I can assure you that my old 82 wing is a whole lot more comfortable and easier to ride than the spyder. constantly fighting bump steer with the spyder. a quartering headwind, forget it! and the spyder is a complete nightmare to work on, even a simple oil change is a pita. i'll take my old 82 wing over any of the reverse trikes.
man can't live on air alone!

Re: Trike with a difference
I also have a 2014 Spyder RT, also a 1995 Aspencade with an insta trike kit fitted, theaspencade despite it's age is streets ahead of the spyder, I also do my own maintainence and my only way to describe the Spyder is a "Heath Robinson Pile of Junk", but should we expect any better from a manufacturer that is NOT a motorcycle manufacturer and does not understand the basics of a motorcycle. Enough said i could go on all day about it.
Enjoy your Goldwing, I certainly am

Not many people are going to know what a "Heath Robinson" machine is, but when I read this I broke out laughing.agedbikeman wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 8:26 am I also have a 2014 Spyder RT, also a 1995 Aspencade with an insta trike kit fitted, theaspencade despite it's age is streets ahead of the spyder, I also do my own maintainence and my only way to describe the Spyder is a "Heath Robinson Pile of Junk", but should we expect any better from a manufacturer that is NOT a motorcycle manufacturer and does not understand the basics of a motorcycle. For those not in the know, Heath Robinson was a cartoonist from around the turn of the century who drew illustrations of machines cobbled together of string, candles, wooden cogs, household items, etc.

Re: Trike with a difference
Is that one of those articulating front ends? If so I have a friend who put one on a Road king and it put him and his wife on the ground twice. The last time he had to sit out a Rally do to a hurt foot. His wife made him trade it in for a regular trike.
WingAdmin Thanks for explaining who "Heath Robinson" was.

If you care to research the original Spyder drawings from brp, you will find they resemble the second drawing in you're reply.
