I use an air hawk air cushion with a sheep skin on top of it. This is on a Corbin seat and won't ride without it. Absolutely love it and can ride all day without any problems. I am 56 years old and 6'4", 235 lbs. Haven't done the iron butt ride but we have rode almost 800 miles before finding a hotel, didn't get a sore backside from that.

My 1980 came with a seat cover. I never had any problems with it and it worked like a charm. Kept the seat dry which wouldn't have happened without it. The old seat had tears in it.

Check the quality is the only thing I suggest. I am deciding if I want to cover or have my seat reupholstered on my 2006. One seam separated so I have to keep a seat cover on it whenever I park it in rain. Still looking at it because it is heated and I want to make sure that feature always works!
