Time for a South Texas Ride

Post by RockportDave »

12:30 and yard work is done. 75° 15 mph wind from SE and sunshine. Time to put some miles on the Beast here in South Texas.
Gonna get in some coastal riding. 😎

Had a great ride. Crossed the ferry.

Watched a ship come in at Port Aransas.

Went to a small boat and RV show on Padre Island and rode to Corpus Christi to look at RVs.
Went to Portland and had ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery. Rode back through Aransas Pass to Rockport and across Aransas Bay to home.
Great ride!

Sounds and looks like you had a nice ride.

Mid 70s and partly cloudy this morning. By the time we got out to ride this afternoon it was low 80s and wind blowing 20-25 mph. About 50 miles and we came home. Too much wind and it becomes work.

75°, 5-10 mph wind from the SSE. We rode 200+ miles today and it was great. We rode to Corpus Christi to take care of some business, then north on I-37 to Mathis to look at 5th wheels. Tx state highway 188 to Sinton, South on 181 to Ingleside and backroads back through Aransas Pass and Rockport. Gotta watch the tourists, they don’t know where they want to go. Back home to get ready for prayer meeting at church tonight. Believe we’ll ride the bike to church.
Beautiful day in South Texas!

The wife had training in Houston all weekend so I’m home with the 3 cats and one dog.
Had to take our king bed mattress to Corpus Christi and exchange it for a new one, warranty issue. So I dragged it through the house and into the trailer by myself, then dragged the new one back through the house and onto the bed. Mattresses do not cooperate when on their side.
Did get some riding in Friday afternoon, Saturday after mowing and Sunday after church.
Rockport had “Kitefest” and I had to go check them out.

Also took time to get a pic of the new Aransas County Airport sign. I really like it.

We have been having problems with something during the night knocking down the hummingbird feeders, so I bought a cheap game camera and set it on a tree in the back yard. Caught them in the act.

Glad it was just Rocky and his friends and wasn’t a big hairy animal walking on two feet.
Been a good weekend. Back to Houston today to work.
