Insurance providers for sidecar rigs

Post by petecracknell »

To those members who have a sidecar mounted to the bike.
What company do you use for insurance of your rig?
Is the sidecar deemed to be an accessory to the bike or a modification to the bike?
Thanks Pete

We've been with Geico forever - when we had a Ural, the sidecar was covered as part of the bike because it was built that way; with the Goldwing we had to declare it as an accessory, but they had no problem covering it.

We use Progressive and also had to claim it as an accessory but they insure with no problem

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately for me, both Geico and Progressive are not available in Canada.
