Thank You WingAdmin - Winterization SUCCESSFUL

Dear WingAdmin (Sir Scott..hahaha),

Thank you for your article on winterizing your Wing. I have an '83 Aspencade and followed your guidelines to the letter. I just pulled "Ginger" out of the garage yesterday........and after a few extra cranks, she fired right up.!! Took her for a 60 mi. ride and the feeling after getting home was like being high. Everything you detailed in your article was excellent. Again....THANK YOU. It was a long haul to restore it, but it was so worth it I would do it over again. (With ANOTHER bike.!) haha Now I have the confidence that when she goes into hibernation, she'll awake in the same condition as the season before.

... and another thank you, wingadmin .
this winter was my first with my wings after having spent late summer / early fall on the resurrection process, a bit of riding, then winterization.
they both started up as if to say ... "what took you so long ? ". :D :D :D

It's great when they have been winterized properly, when they just start right up in spring, like they've just been waiting for you.

Check your tire pressures!!! I forgot this vital step this spring, and my front tire had gone completely flat! I rolled it off the center stand in my garage, and just about lost the bike from the unexpected sideways movement. I couldn't put it on the side stand, because with the tire flat, and the slight slope of my garage floor towards the drain, the bike was so upright that it would have fallen over on its own. I managed to haul it back up on the center stand (VERY difficult to do with a flat tire), fill the tire, and start over.

Oh yes......absolutely go through the "whole checklist". Tires, lights, signals, fluid levels.......the whole list. Doesn't take long and "just in case" you find something to address......better to take care of it THEN instead of 10 mi. down the road.
