Backpack with helmet holder

Post by thunderwing »

Was looking for a backpack that would hold a helmet, backpack needed to be sturdy and able to hold things for work like lunch, my Dezl GPS for Trucking, power cords, etc.

Haven't purchased it yet.

Figured I'd share my research.

Can't seem to find anything else that fits in terms of quality and sturdiness.

A bonus is that it's perfect to fit what it was designed to carry....a full welding kit....but that's another story as I would love to learn.

The welding rig is more of a "face shield" than a full helmet - if you have a Harbor Freight nearby go take a look at their light-activated ones to get a sense of the size (they're small compared to a full-face). And while you're there, pick up a welder, they're cheap and they work just fine for learning how to melt metals together. Don't let the pros tell you otherwise, you have to practice to get better and there's no better way than to get started *now*, instead of waiting years to get the "perfect equipment". There's always something better, and there's plenty of opinions to go around.

Molle and Sedici both make helmet-holding backpacks, IIRC.

Duly noted on the welding. I'm sure that I will find something at harbor freight that will tickle my fancy.

Upon further research I found a backpack from Shoei that fits the bill much better for a full face helmet. The backpack would be strapped into the backseat of the wing for the ride to work, and when I drive the work truck(Daycab)I can put my helmet in the backpack and secure it without worrying about the helmet bouncing around the cab.

Looks good for a $100.00

Outstanding!

Yeah, the trick at Harbor Freight is to get in and out with just what you came for... and before the prastic fumes give you cancer.
