2016 Goldwing ?

Post by buzz742 » Wed Jul 03, 2019 6:39 pm

New to this forum. Had a 1998 Goldwing till 2005. Since 2005 had several bikes and now looking to get back on a wing. Not completely sold on the 2018+ model but found a dealer that has a brand new 2016 audio-comfort-Nav-XM for $17,800 out the door price (tax, tags, prep etc..) It's hard to price a three year old wing that is technically being sold as new. I believe the Honda three year warranty is included. Just wanted to get some advice or comments from experienced wing owners. Thanks in advance to you'all.

If I liked the bike I'd do it.

We bought our 2016 new in July of 2017. IIRC, they knocked off about $6k because they were trying to get as many of the 2016's out to make room for the 2018's. Whatever, it had 0.6 miles on it when I rode it off the lot. We put some more down and I think we financed around $19k on a 48 month loan. We'll have it paid off in 36-40 months. IMHO, I think that price is a great price for a new 2016 that should come with a full factory warranty.

What color?

I like it! We got the black/graphite model. Same bike, same year, different color. Ours also has ABS. If our dealer would’ve had the silver it might have been a more difficult choice.

Am I safe to assume that by the 2016 model Honda took care of and eliminated prior known issues?

Of all the complaints I can think of reading here regarding the earlier 1800 models I don’t think my 2016 has had those issues. There might be one or two very minor things, but mine has been pretty trouble free.

The only problem I can recall was when the latch for the left saddle bag broke and I had to use duct tape to fix it so it would latch shut until I could get it to the dealer.
