Raw gas smell

When my 95 gl1500 gets below half tank of gas then we smell raw gas a lot of the time. Can fill up then we don't smell any please help

This is a new phenomena to me.
I assume it is when you park and not riding the bike is when you smell it.
Try the gas cap area first, cap has a vent hole.
Nearing half tank there is more air to expand thus pressurizing said tank.
Use old towels to block off the openings in the filler area.

Can you locate the strongest area by 'Wafting' different areas?

Use a paper towel tube or smaller but still long hose and 'zero in' on the gas smell?
