96 GL 1500

Post by bernasj »

It has been a long time since I posted on this site. I have looked pretty hard and have found no reference to performance enhancements. I was just wondering if anyone has attempted to pop a little more horsepower from the GL 1500. Enhancements that wouldn't be detrimental to reliability and not too hard on mpg. Any thing would be appreciated. Have a blessed day Y'all.

There's not a lot I can think of. The exhaust is already pretty free-flowing, and those that try straight pipes have found it sometimes actually decreases efficiency and power, because the Honda-engineered collector box is no longer using harmonics to vacuum-evacuate the cylinders.

The only thing I can think of would be forced induction. Maybe an electric supercharger? Obviously that will affect mileage. I don't know if I've heard of someone doing forced induction on a GL1500 before.

Just get an 1800 wing. Or if you really a fast sports/touring bike get a Kawasaki Concours 1400.
