Time keeper...

Post by tj5iveo »

Have ‘17 Wing audio/comfort. I know Honda and us riders care nothing about time but couldn’t they put little better on board clock??? Anyone out there install either battery or 12 volt clock? Kinda want something that doesn’t stick out. Saw one that is volt meter and clock and installs in hole on throttle side. I already have volt meter there. And I already know, when u r in the bike, who should care about time!!!
Thanx
TJ

If I *had* to choose between a voltmeter and a clock...voltmeter would be my first pick.

As usual, I'm missing something. What is wrong with the on board clock?

Since C-dub and I both have a Navi bike, which has a constant display of time in the corner of all screens, it's not a problem.

With the audio/comfort bike, it's a small-ish LCD screen:

Thanks kwthom, I had no idea.

tj5iveo, my apologies, my Goldwing knowledge is slim on my own model. Other models and trim levels it's much less.

If it were that important to me I might just get an inexpensive little digital waterproof watch and wrap it around some part of the handlebars or somewhere I could easily see it. Or get a really long strap so I could wear it on the outside of my jacket sleeve kinda like the astronauts do. I've tried this with my own watch and the band I have is not long enough.

LOL... my display on my '17 si similar to the pic u posted. time is displayed in upper left corner so that small shade shades it and depending on the sun... before I actually put the volt meter in the hole knockout on the throttle side, I did place a small digital led voltmeter inside the speaker grill. was kinda cool but not really. I like add ons that appear to be for the bike not like some I have seen. appears summer is getting here, short sleeves and a watch. so until I find something that looks "cool", I'll deal with the clock on this '17 as I did on my '03 and '06.
thanx for all, enjoyed it a lot. ride safe, b safe

Ouch.

You're really gonna hurt the feelings of the plastic chrome crowd, aren't ya?

Short sleeves and a watch. I did that nearly 40 years ago...until...

I left the watch at home one day. I was wearing very short gauntlet, dirt-bike gloves; they didn't cover that white spot.

Probably one of the worst sunburn areas I've ever had!

Seriously, hope you find what works for you!
