Passenger seat pad
My wife wants a gel pad. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good one? I have a 96 GW.

Just a quick word. While they can be comfortable, if the bike is parked in the sun for a bit, the gel can get really hot quickly, giving new meaning to 'hot pants'.

Re: Passenger seat pad
A good one? That is a debatable question. I've had 2 from Alaska Sheepskin that leaked out after a year or so and yes gel pads get hot in the sun and hard as a rock in cold temps, think ice cubes....
I have since gone to memory foam padding that I cut to shape and fit into the sheepskin pad. Much better in my opinion. I'm a long distance rider, year round riding from NH to San Diego.
Have you tried the Airhawk seat pad for her? That uses air instead of foam or gel. They do add comfort.
Re: Passenger seat pad
newday777 - I wanted to thank you for the Airhawk recommendation. My wife has tried a couple gel pads and even a foam pad that she made herself. They all helped some, but after a long day in the saddle she was still a bit sore. I saw your post shortly before we left for a long trip wandering around western Colorado and we took a look at the Airhawks. She ordered a small Cruiser R seat through Amazon and it showed up 2 days before we left. 10 days & 2900 miles later and she loves it. She says it relieves the pressure on her sit-bones and makes the ride much more comfortable. She's even suggesting that I get one for myself.
So thanks again for the suggestion.

Every day is a good day for a bike ride. Some days are just better than others.
