Passenger seat pad

Post by chelios99 »

My wife wants a gel pad. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good one? I have a 96 GW.

Just a quick word. While they can be comfortable, if the bike is parked in the sun for a bit, the gel can get really hot quickly, giving new meaning to 'hot pants'.

A good one? That is a debatable question. I've had 2 from Alaska Sheepskin that leaked out after a year or so and yes gel pads get hot in the sun and hard as a rock in cold temps, think ice cubes....
I have since gone to memory foam padding that I cut to shape and fit into the sheepskin pad. Much better in my opinion. I'm a long distance rider, year round riding from NH to San Diego.
Have you tried the Airhawk seat pad for her? That uses air instead of foam or gel. They do add comfort.
