JM headset recommendations
My wife and I both have HKC IS-Max 2 helmets and I would like to get new JM headsets for them. The ones that came with the bike are very old and in bad shape. I see Cyclemax has a 291 set for like $105ish, is that 291 going to work well with a modular helmet? I know the 801 units are probably better performance wise, but budget comes into this too. Thoughts?

Re: JM headset recommendations
I've used both, and my last two helmets I installed the Elite headset. I do listen to music on long rides, and the sound quality of the Elite headsets is MUCH better than the cheaper ones. The headset speakers themselves on the Elite are also thinner, so they are more comfortable in the helmet.bigsteveswing wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 4:05 pm My wife and I both have HKC IS-Max 2 helmets and I would like to get new JM headsets for them. Yes, they work in a modular helmet. I currently have the Elite 787 that I have had for a couple of years, the sound quality is great. I would recommend you belly up and get the 801's, if you do any distance riding, you will enjoy the investment.

Re: JM headset recommendations
Thank you both for your recommendations, I will hopefully be able to get an Elite 801 this year. It's about $75 more for the headset and the lower cord than the Performance series 291 setup. If you fellas say it's worth it, I believe you.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
