DKW's motorcycle factory was in Zschopau eastern Germany, near the border of Czechoslovakia. After the war, Zschopau was in communist East Germany (DDR) and the factory continued making motorcycles under the name of MZ - Motorenwerke Zschopau. After unification, the factory closed for good. MZ still have a huge following in the UK and Europe, the marque is known for its quality of engineering and simple ruggedness.

You are welcome. In my youth, a used MZ was the only bike I could afford and I still have a soft spot for them now.
