when you are really in a hurry to get to Dairy Queen, skip the Goldwing and go to the rotary wing:

Sounds like the Karens in Canada are as alive and well as the ones in the U.S.

As a commercial pilot, and knowing both the regulations and common sense, this was a boneheaded move on the part of the pilot.

Beer cruizin' gravel back roads is how most people deer hunt in Maine, nowadays.

the Major Problem is:
the parking lot must be "preapproved by LEOs" and they will tape it off with the Yellow Crime Scene tapes.....

he did not call ahead, did not get approval.

He violated 2 separate laws, the least of which is the local gendarmes.

the worst is the Aviation law that he did NOT declare an Emergency and go direct to the nearest suitable landing spot.

the pilot was an Idiot who's Common Sense got over-ruled by a threat of being fired by his Employer...
He should have said "Sir, that is a violation that will cost me my Pilot's License. I can't do it"
he might have been fired, but he could leave and get hired immediately elsewhere by having that threat on his Resume.

The first mistake the pilot made was flying a Robinson.

No following error in judgment comes as any surprise.
