My bike!

Post by WingAdmin »

A friend of mine this weekend took a picture of me sitting on my bike that I thought came out rather well. I particularly like it because you can't tell how absolutely filthy the bike is, covered in bugs and road grime from hundreds of miles of riding (and rain!).

How did you get it to look like you’re balancing the bike straight up without the center stand being down, or at least without seeing the center stand? 🤷‍♂️👍 is it an optical illusion 😏😊?

I think it rolled over 95,000 miles on the way home, so that's about 153,000 km. And yes, it's got an Austone Taxi Tire on the rear. 7,000 miles on that tire and it still looks practically brand new.

You have a long way to go, Scott.
I have 15 or 16 thousand on my Austone and it's nowhere near worn out.
(and I have TWO more Austones hiding in the dark in the back of my shop. Eat your heart out!)

Bike sure presents well for the k on it.
I got mine up into the mid 190,000 k this year but it doesn't show as well as yours.

I think that these 1500s were the best looking of all the Goldwings.
Here's my '99.
I pulled over and snapped the second pic about a year ago.

It’s not the bike I’m worried about, it’s when you sit me on it that the pic goes downhill. 😳😏😊

Thank you, sir! Now you know why she's my Mean Wing. Those teeth are what caught my eye on eBay when I purchased this '02 back in 2008. As a former F-16 Fighter Pilot, the look was right down my alley (though I added the chrome scowl and eyebrows to enhance the "meanness"). But, those teeth, which were beautifully hand painted, are attributed to the previous owner who was in the VA ANG flying Cobra helicopters, which sported "sharks teeth" on all their aircraft. And now you know the rest of the story . . . :D
